Does anyone have any insight on stripped heads? Mostly I'm curious about the feel difference between stripped and chromed heads of the same club.

 

 

Driver: TaylorMade R9 9.5* with a Diamana Kai'li 70 S shaft

I play with stripped heads.  My MP33's are stripped, and dyed gun blue.  I am not sure that their is a significant difference in feel.  MP33's feel soft anyway.  I can not even say their is a difference in wear.  I bought this set of MP33's and they were worn and beat up.  I stripped them and sanded and polished the and had a nice looking set.  The best thing about them is if I hit a buried rock, I can sand it and refinish it and it looks as good as new.  Here are a few pics from when I first did it.

 

After my 7, 8, 9 and PW showed significant wear in the grooves, I replaced them one at a time. I was stalking eBay and would find a deal on a MP33 club that I was looking for with not much wear but someone sellling cheap.  I replaced the 8, 9, and wedge for less than $15 each and stripped it when it got here.  Now just my 7 iron show wear at all.

 

They were on Black KBS Tours then with red ferrules.  They are now on KBS CT Lites with black ferrules and not as dark but still look good.

 

In the full bag photos you can see that the MP Fli Hi's are still the original chrome and not gun blued.

Raw heads don't feel any diifferent than non-raw.  The main thing about raw heads is they rust and cut glare.
