JUST ARRIVED - The Swing Caddie

Recommended Posts

  • SPY VIP

If you have been around the blog or forum for any amount of time you more then likely remember a couple products by the company making the Swing Caddie.

Remember me?

The Voice Caddie

The Green Caddie

Well in a great form of branding they are getting ready to release the Swing Caddie (personal launch monitor).  This unit just arrived so haven't even been able to kick the tires yet.  But wanted to show you what it looked like right away.

A little bit bigger then an iPhone and a starting MSRP of $269.  Can also be used indoors.  Just place directly behind the ball.  Pretty slick little device.

Awesome, excited to see how this does with measuring distances.  Will you be comparing it to a full launch monitor like flightscope or trackman for the review?

Not sure what we are going to do with it yet to be honest.  We are just finalizing getting all the paperwork completed for our new indoor test facility.  So going to be some changes going on with the launch monitor we use. Meeting with Trackman at the PGA Show to discuss getting theirs.

So in a bit of a holding pattern until we get the new place rockin and rolling.  Gonna be a lot of work but can not wait for you guys to come and see it.

Thinking we will throw a launch party at the new spot.

You guys interested?

Realistically I wouldn't be able to go.  Hard enough to leave my wife with a 3yr old and 8wk old to go to Carlsbad, if I tell her I'm going on another golf trip I'm not sure I'd have a home to come back to :)

Sounds like a great idea though, make sure to take lots of pictures!

The numbers look off, to me, unless the 84 yards is for average instead of the last shot played.  I'd be interested in seeing how well the numbers match to my GC2.

I'm guessing those are just for display.  120mph swing speed with a PW that goes 84yds = not a real shot

I assume that was ball speed

Ha ha, that makes much more sense!

I have to admit, this is a product that I am really curious to look at.  As often as I tinker with things, it would be awfully convenient to be able to use something like this at will rather than have to go to a shop and 'borrow' a sim or LM.

I would buy something like this if it works with roughly 10 feet of ball flight into a net and had spin rate and launch angle and spin axis angle. Without those measurements, the resulting ball flight calculations will be a best guess based on the club selected. I will be very interested in seeing how it compares to a sophisticated launch monitor. You obviously can't expect the accuracy of a unit that costs 50 times more. But if it'sin therange of realistic, that's a good deal.

  • 2 months later...

I'll compare numbers on Swing Caddie and TrackMan very soon. And simulators - HD Golf and About Golf - and Foresight GC2.

First impression of the SC device is ok. Feels a little cheap. It costs $450 over here, it has to perform well to justify the price tag.
