gdiddy
Hey al,l I am going to get Ping i20 irons here very soon and would like some input. Im a 18 hc and Im sick of it. I don't always hit the 4h that i own consistently. And am very fond of my Scratch 56*sw. So what would you do 4-u or 5-sand. Im thinking 5-sand for the same feel and look. I have hit 7 different GI irons and Ping is the one Im going with. Thanks folks
RoverRick
Since this is do as I say not as I do, I would say get the 5-Sand. At an 18 you should be using hybrids for you 3-4 irons at least. Jmikecpa
I agree with Rick on the hybrids, but it is all what you are comfortable with and can hit consistently. I play off of a scratch index and have not had an iron below a 5 iron in my bag for almost a decade now since I cannot hit a 3 or 4 iron very consistently. I play a 3 and 4 hybrid, 5-PW with a 53*, 56* and 60*. However I played with a 26 on Friday and Saturday whose two best clubs were driver and 4 iron. So...... You really need to know your game. What clubs do you hit well? If you're struggling with the long irons go with hybrids, lots of them. BIG STU
I have just recently switched to a hybrid even though I can still hit the 4 and 5 irons. I recently traded for a Ping I 20 20* hybrid that I have bent to 22* since I carry a 21* 7 wood I know the numbers are close but I like the hybrid and I have it deballed so to speak so it hits like a 24* but I love the way it hits and I can do more with it Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee.
