The Texas Open last year looked like it could be a huge event, however, some last minute issues caused it to be a 4 man round. Great times were had, awesome swag was given out and we got to see bones hit some 400 yard drives in person. I'd like to open up the discussion for this year's event and suggest a location. Raven Nest Golf Course in Huntsville, Texas. The course is in great shape, and since it is run and maintained by Sam Houston State University's PGM program it is a great deal. There is a ton of accommodations in the area. The course is right off 45, so it is super easy to get there. In addition to starting the TO discussion, I would also like to invite anyone to come up, down or over to play. I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting the members I know so far, and look forward to meeting more! RoverRick Posted February 7, 2014 Share Posted February 7, 2014 Oh man, yesterday March 8th was perfect. I was going out of the country tomorrow and coming back on March 1st. Then this morning I get a message to delay my departure. Not sure when I am going or returning. If it a weeks delay then I will be returning on the 8th but 36 hours of traveling will probably not do my game much good. I have another tournament on the 16th so that weekend is out for me. However, at this point, my schedule is so screwed who knows when I can play. Since I am not the one making the ticket arrangement I will tell them if the a day or two makes no difference for them I would just as soon be home by the 8th. If you decide to have another tournament more centrally located in the state I sure might try to make it. (Austin area, Waco, Fredericksberg) Curious. Why March? I've lived in Texas my whole life. (which is a long time) March is usually windy and can still be cold at times. Just wondering. Best of luck on the Open. (perhaps you'd like to discuss a summer or fall outing somewhere?)
