I'm between uptown and downtown, but I'm surprised you don't know Zinger yet! He's a fellow Woodbury man. I'm probably going to make Tartan Park my home course this year. Whereabouts do you play?

I've been a member at Eagle Valley the last couple of years - great staff there and close to my house. I've actually been considering mixing it up and joining Tartan this year. I like that Tartan has a locker room and club storage. I also like that you can get a range pass for the summer, which they don't offer at Eagle Valley (discount for bulk purchases only). My only real complaint about Eagle Valley is that they have no practice area for sand, and they only have one practice green (no separate one for practicing chipping and pitching). There's a pro at Tartan that used to work at Eagle Valley that I still get lessons from - he's been great for me. I should probably talk to him about joining Tartan before I make a decision. The great thing about Eagle Valley is I just show up half the time with no tee time and they get me on there.  ;-D

Played Eagle Valley twice - really liked it.  Never played Tartan - Paul, I think that should be on the MGS-MN Rota, don't you??

Played a lot at Eagle Valley when I lived over there and not a bad track at all.  I ended up going the Sawmill/Logger's Trail route for a membership.  I played in a league at Mississippi Dunes and they have reciprocity.  They offered an under 30 membership at the time for around $700 so it was a great deal.

 

I always ended up finding deals for playing Oak Marsh though so that was where I played the most rounds when I didn't have a membership.

Most definitely. I almost never get tee times. As a single, I usually slide into any gap. Tartan also has 27 holes and reciprocity with The Links at Northfork, which is hckymeyer's home course now. It seems like a no brainier for me to be able to get rounds in with Zinger AND hckymeyer... And then to hit up Stonebrooke down south with Barbajo.

 

Anyway you slice it, there is a great MGS group here in the twin cities. Welcome, and we look forward to hitting the course with you!
