MikeG
I watched him win last year on the European Tour. I think he's got the game to play over here. Couldn't root against Jason Day though. Great match!
revkev
I watched him win last year on the European Tour. I think he's got the game to play over here. Couldn't root against Jason Day though. Great match! Given European domination in the rider cup the question should really be if an American can play there not visa versa. Hate to say it but I think that's been the better tour since the early 80s. Seve Faldo or Greg Norman? Look at the record there really is no comparison. The argument in that era is who was number three between Norman and langer. Same number of majors and remarkably similar records on their respective tours with almost the same cross over records. Tiger and Phil have stemed the tide, a bit but the euros keep coming in waves. Salmon
Really really glad I recoreded the rest of the semi and the final, was only able to watch to about the 6th hole of the semi's and looked like Victor was done for and Day was going to run away with it as well. hckymeyer
I think my favorite part of both of those desert shots was the amount of time it took for him to hit them. Then again when it's in that much trouble there isn't much you can do besides close your eyes, swing, and hope for the best Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. Regardless they were remarkable shots, I think the first may have had more than a little element of luck but the second was totally planned. Plus there was the bunker shot where he played it off the ridge. The guy has a great imagination and then the ability to pull off what he envisions. westy
Controversial words Rev! The shame of it is that there aren't more players moving between the tours enough. I wish more us players played over here - I think we know that the only way they come now is for huge appearance fees. There may be a reason that euro tour players know how to scrap, fight and win when it comes to match play and Ryder cups. Money. If you aren't doing well on the European tour then you ain't making much of a living - yep better than many of us but not great. Playing in Europe is a scrap. Outside top 75 in Europe last year earns less than 400k euros and by the time of get down to 115th (where you keep your card) I seriously doubt your doing much to keep the bank manager happy. 75th in us tour earns 1.1m dollars..... In the US if you come 15th enough your a millionaire, in Europe you can't pay all your bills and your caddy. Pay a bit less in the US and I doubt it would make golf worse, far from it. Oh and as for woods, Mickleson et al not playing the match play - if they are fit to play it's frankly a disgrace and has devalued the event. Bet they wouldn't have missed it if they were guaranteed 4 rounds of golf.....more match play events please I love them, even if one or two 'greats' don't. Oh dear got a bit of a rant on there..... revkev
I love this event too and could go for one more a season. Of course all of us here are golf fans and we recognize how good the so called second tier of players or even third tier would be. Top 64 in the world? Not much to seperate them other than who's playing well on a given week.
