Best way to repair a ferrule

I have a ferrule where the little cap on the ferrule has broken loose.  The head is tight, as the ferrule itself is fine, it is just the decorative capp that is loose and floating around.  

 

I am thinking a dot of epoxy.  Any better suggestions?

The whole ferrule is slipping up? If so, slide it up as far as you can and rough the shaft up a little (only what will be covered by ferrule). Once you've done that, a little super glue or epoxy and reseat the ferrule. If you need to to be able to slide it up, run water as hot as you can get from your faucet over it for 20-30 seconds. It'll soften it just enough to be able to slip it up. Lots of times when ferrules start sliding/creeping up, it's because of insufficient prep beneath the ferrule and not prepping the inside of the ferrule itself. This will fix that issue.

That is what is strange, it isn't the entire plastic piece, just the cover, which appears to be just a decorative cop on cover that has worked loose.  The plastic part that is inside the hosel is seated fine, it's just this cap.

A dab of epoxy should take care of it, pictures would also be helpful.

I have a similar prob with my Nike VR Pro CB's....seems the ferrules have not broken, but have slipped up the graphite shaft about 1/8 to 1/4 inch.  I tried to turn them but they are tight.  Will the hot water allow me to push them back down the graphite shaft?

It sounds like you're describing it as a ferrule for an adapter (that's the only piece I can think of that would fit the cup description). Same thing, remove any existing epoxy residue and then scuff so it'll have something to stick to. Epoxy it back and let it set

Cycle the hot water trick will work.

I would also measure each club and ensure you have a proper gapping in length between the clubs.

If it appears there is more or less than the traditional 1/2 between clubs have them looked by a guy to make sure the heads are not slipping

Driver - 44.5" 5.0 flex 10.5 deg Graphite Design XC 6S GP MCC4+ 1 deg closed

Irons - 5-pw, GW stnd length 5.0 flex same grip 1 deg flat. Type low medium offset cavity back, no diggers

Wedges - 56 and 60 tour grind wedge spinner and mcc4+ grip 2 flat 10 and 8 in bounce

Putter - Makefield VS LH

Ball - truvis

Carried in a Sun Mountain C-130 USA bag - BE PROUD.

HC - LH but 85 is a good number, playing in Ohio.
