tonyj5
After a very exciting start to the LPGA season, the LPGA will be staging its first major championship this week with the playing of the Kraft Nabisco Championship. This will be the first of 5 major championships on the 2014 LPGA schedule. Winning a major championship can go a long way towards achieving the LPGA's most prestigious season ending awards. Player of the Year points and Rookie of the Year points are doubled for major championships. Twenty-five percent will be added to the normal value of points rewarded for the Race to the CME Globe and its one million dollar first prize. This will be tournament #7 of 32 on this year's LPGA schedule. RoverRick
This is the first LPGA Tournament I have watched the entire telecast of the final round. OMG. These two girls, Lexi Thompson the winner and Michelle Wie the runner up played awesome golf. There were no wild shots. It was a full day of smart golf by both these players. I am not sure about the others because they showed the last pairing almost exclusively, but the deserved it. These two put on a show. Lexi made two or three more putts than Michelle and that was the difference. MarcKilgore
Funny - this is also the first LPGA tournament I have watched through the entire final round. Those two gals were awesome under pressure. Cripes they can rip the ball - I'm glad I wasn't playing against them. jaxbeachpackerfan
Hat's off to my girl Lexi! Played a casual round with her at TPC Valley Course when she was 16 while her brother was playing in a Junior tournament on the Stadium Course. She could bomb it then! She shot 68 from the Blue tees (6500 yds) without really trying. I'm a fan.
