Watching it right now actually.  These kids must be nervous as hell...they're hitting a bunch of bad shots...along with some spectacular ones.

Saw a bit of it and enjoyed it. It's kind of like only watching the NCAA football championship game though. I think you don't get the true flavor of it from just this. Made me look to see that we actually have the AAC league championship right by me every April. I always catch their baseball tournament in May and have it in mind to do the same with golf next year. Lord willing of course.

I did think it was interesting to see some players using push carts instead of carrying their clubs. Seemed like a smart approach since they wouldn't have the extra strain on their backs.

Push carts usually get a bad rap as far as I know but they are smart when playing that much golf.

I watched some of it of course I was pulling for South Carolina because NC state was out of it.

As far as the push carts I had my first experience with one yesterday that a pro friend of mine let me use. I ditched it after the first nine. I personally would rather carry my stuff. i can actually walk faster than I can push that thing but that is just me. In fact we are going to rig the shoulder strap thing on my bag today. the bag came with the sholder straps unattached and they have never been on it and that young pro friend of mine is going to help me rig them up today since I cant figgure them out

We were talking about the same thing as we watched. First, we didn't know that they could use them, then kinda thought it was weird seeing a push cart on TV like that. We eventually settled on "it's probably a smart call, you'll get teased for it I'm sure, but you'll also have more energy" Also the use of the range finders. We spent a ton of time debating if they were using them, then sure enough it focused in on a coach and the announcer said "and they can use range finders" so that took care of that question.

Pros should be allowed rangefinders too.  Sure would speed things up compared to the antiquated yardage books they use.

The NCAA and USGA are getting progressive as time passes. I played a US Am local and it was 97* so the caddies could ride and the bag could be in the cart, but as a player I could not sit in nor touch the cart for the two rounds or I got a DQ. I could not even take out my own club or put a club back in my bag....which I didn't since I had some 70 year old retired teacher as the "rules official" walking with my group. She was just waiting to DQ someone in our group.
