tonyj5
After a week off the LPGA will be moving to the state of North Carolina for the playing of the U.S Women's Open. This is the 2nd of 5 majors on the LPGA schedule. It is also the start of the most important part of the LPGA schedule. The next ten events will bring us four major championships, the Canadian Women's Open, and the International Crown. This week's tournament will be #15 of 32 on the 2014 LPGA schedule (the International Crown is an unofficial tournament and is not counted in the grand total). RoverRick
We were subjected to 24 hour a day coverage of the US Open, but not any of the tournament, by Golf Channel and I just checked the line up and nothing for the ladies. Other than a shot of them on the range while talking about how Compton's second place was not a fluke, they barely mentioned it while I watched. They did a few puff pieces about the ladies coming early and walking and watching Sunday's round. But apparently, that is all their coverage of the US Women's Open. Yep, they are playing also. Maybe they will mention it again on Morning Drive, if they can tear themselves away from the Eric Compton story long enough we will see more. silver & black
I watch the women play all the time. I almost enjoy watching them play more than the men because their game is a lot more like mine..... except 20 times better...lol.
revkev
Imagine showing up at your local muni and seeing a touring pro there. That's what I saw when I went for some short game practice on Saturday. HighFade
I think with Wie threatening to win her first major, the ratings will beat the men's this week. I heard Kaymer's wire to wire had the lowest ratings in a long time. People tune in for Wie. I know I will. There is no spoon. revkev
I know that the "local" rule about relief from sprinkler heads in the players line from off the green was the same for the men and the women but is anyone else having the same issues that I am? I mean if the USGA needs to make a "local rule out of this perhaps it should just be a rule. Who here hasn't been off the green and preferred to putt or hit a less lofted club but couldn't because of a sprinkler head in their line. Sometimes I would just like someone to ex recipe some common sense. I have hit them just off the side of the green and my ball goes 20 feet in the air into the rough as a result.
