Foley done!

I guess it's not a shock to learn that Tiger and Sean Foley are done but wow where does Tiger go next?

He certainly doesn't have the time for a major swing transformation so it better be a tweaker rather than a year and a half process kind of guy.

Thoughts?

He's gotta go back to Butch. Last time he was with Harmon, he was a young man with different athletic abilities. Now, he is an almost 40 yr old with body rotation issues.

Whoever he goes to needs to get him back to hitting the draw as a stock shot. I don't think the cut has served him well

No chance, Phil is Butch's guy now.

Tiger is a smart guy. He doesn't need a swing coach. He should know his swing well enough by now to figure it out. Stop thinking, and be the ball. What he needs is a psychologist.

For all his faults, Tiger Woods is still a darned good golfer, and at his worst form, can outplay any one of us anytime. Then again, he does that for a living, most of us don't.

I think the problem with his game isn't so much the swing mechanics. Maybe it's something between his ears. Maybe he subconsciously (or not) know that he has ran out of the good karma to keep winning & sinking the clutch putts that he needs so much to stay on top.

At the end of the day, we all know fully well... your golf swing (game) is something that is borrowed, and can never be owned. Enjoy when playing well knowing fully well there's more to life than hitting balls into a 4 inch hole.

Now in my bag:

In another, related thread someone suggested Hank Haney and I almost snorted coffee through my nose. I would say Butch also if he goes to anyone. Psychologist indeed.

BTW, this- "Enjoy when playing well (or poorly) knowing fully well there's more to life than hitting balls into a 4 inch hole."- is the only thought that kept me from leaving my clubs on the course and giving up the game for good last weekend when I was NOT playing well.

True, there is reaching a long par 5 in two, then gently rolling the ball into a 4" hole.

Seriously, you make a good point.  Maybe Tiger just doesn't have the same hunger. For sure he wants the 19 majors, but he's got millions upon millions, his body hurts, his brain has got to be tired of it all.

He needs to kick back for a long time and heal his mind and body.  Figure out what is really important to him not golf fans.

Respectfully,
DHUCK WHOOKER
