fozcycle
They reported that Stevie wanted to caddy less and spend more time at home in New Zealand, whereas Scott plans a full schedule in 2015.......so they parted ways. whiskey golf
I think Stevie had been talking about cutting back or retiring for a while now Some article said he considered 2000 as being his last full year, 14 years is quite a while to put retirement/part time work off to the side. ZenGolfer
Good for him. He's done it all as a caddie and has nothing left to prove. Youve got to respect someone who chooses home and family over fame and money. MattF
He spoke to Scott about 2014 being the last full time year for him and just wanted to caddy part-time (Majors only), but, Scott want's a full-time caddy, so they parted ways as friends. Another site I am on, there's some hate for Steve for the role he had to play being Tigers caddy, paticularly from one person who will rehash a story over and over again like it's a new thing every telling. Aotearoa_Brad
Steve Williams is a die-hard car-racing fanatic - he even won the New Zealand super-saloon championship previously. It's definitely a mutual decision, and Steve has cited wanting to spend more time in New Zealand with family, and racing, on many occasions over the last few years. Remember, he's being doing this fulltime on various tours since he was 16 (he's now 51). Good on him, yes he's outspoken and rates himself, but he carved out a pretty amazing career for himself doing what he loves, and you have to respect that. Exactly I interpreted this announcement as a positive for both the player and the caddie. It was a solid partnership for both and now it's time for both to move on. Good for them. fozcycle
Just wondering if Adam will pick a Caddie from his region......one of the reasons they got along so well was they were both from the Pacific.
