Golf isn't just a long walk and a lot of swearing, there is a whole language based on the royal and ancient game.

So here's a list of many of the top golf expressions you may hear on any given day (in between all that swearing and frustrated claims that “I'm never picking up a sodding club again!”). There are classics and newbies and if you've got any more we'd love to hear them…

We've always used the term "Saddam Hussein" rather than Adolf for a bunker-to-bunker shot

Sally gunnell, ed milliband, Douglas bader.....

 

Heard them many times out on the course - always liked a gunnell myself....
