RoverRick
Keegan Bradley, Graeme McDowell, and Fredrick Jacobson are putting their name on a New England Style Ale, a Celtic Style Pale Ale, and a Scandinavian Style Blonde Ale, respectively. You can read the complete story here. Now I really look forward to testing this out. How about some forum member testing here? X, T, WD, guys, I am really available to test this out right now. So while we are on the subject, how many of you are fans of these types or beers? I personally am a fan of Pale Ales. So pull up a micro brew and let's talk. Kenny B
I would certainly give them a try. I think I would be partial to McDowell's Celtic ale from the looks of it. This year I have been focusing on Irish stout ales. Not fond of Guinness very much, but it have found several micros that are very good. Of course, there are times when nothing but a good Scotch will do. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

MattF
I actually brew my own. Partial to Dunkelweizen, milk stout (which is funny because I don't like dark beers), summer ale (more for the wife) and my newest favourite is an Aussie Ale. westy
Mmmm beer Kenny and Matt - I hear you with the stouts and porters, one of the local micros makes an exceptional Oyster Stout another a tidy Milk Stout. Many of the local pubs have crazy amounts of real beer and real cider (I live in Apple country) - some horrible if I'm honest, some amazing. Good luck to the chaps, hope they make some nice beers (mind you it might also be a cheeky tax dodge, micros breweries often lose money after all - sorry being cynical). Kenny B
Oyster stout sounds interesting. I had a cream stout last week and it was ok but mild, not much taste. My favorite stouts and porters have a hint of chocolate and coffee taste. You could put a scoop of ice cream in it and call it breakfast! I'm not much into cider but my wife loves them; some inexpensive, some pricey (guess which ones she likes). I also live in apple country, and wine country. You would think that the apples would be great here but they export them all over the world and we get last years storage apples. We have to go directly to the orchard to get good ones and that's only a few weeks out of the year. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
westy
Oyster stout is magic stuff, love it. Cider is a huge business in the west of England, got some amazing stuff at alcohol volumes up to 9%. Nectar. Another month and I'll be putting some still cider into brewing tubs with the sloes I'll have removed from the first batch of sloe gin.....to make SLiDeR (TM lawyers on the phone shortly I should think) Other famous golfers involved in booze? frank Nobilo has a vineyard I think and Id be amazed if Miguel angel Jimenez doesn't have one Rest in peace long sticks - I'll remember you TM Burner Superfast 2.0 TP Regular TM RBZ Stage 2 Fairway 14.5 stiff Adams Blue Hybrid No. 3 stiff Adams Super xtdHybrid 21.5 Stiff Ping G30 4 and 5 Iron - Regular CFS Shaft Ping i25 6 - PW Regular CFS Shaft TM Y Groove Gap Wedge Cleveland CG10 Sand Wedge PingTR Piper Putter, adjustable shaft, SuperStroke Fatso Titleist StaDry Cart Bag Motocaddy S3 Pro Trolley Foot Joy City, Adidas Boost Boa and Adidas Superstar shoes Pro V1x in the summer, Titleist Velocity in the winter. revkev
Oyster stout? I would love to try that one. Does anyone know of one in the US? I was actually a beer salesman in my pre seminary days. I got involved in the introduction of this microbrew you all may have heard of - Sam Smith's Boston Lager. I love a good Pale Ale and a cigar. But Oyster Stout? I have to try that one. Kenny B
Is the vodka any good? I have an autographed bottle, so I'm not cracking it open. Don't know. I bought it for the bottle! But it's supposed to be premium; pricey enough. I wouldn't open an autographed bottle either. I became partial to Russian vodka while going there for 10 years; just the local ones, not the big brands. Every town bottles their own and they are very good. But I still prefer a good scotch and lately the Irish stout. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

OK Westy, you've got me interested. The chocolate and coffee hints are perfect, but I am going to have to find one with oysters. westy
Not one to try and make yourself! Oh and I'd point out there's none of the little critters in the beer when I drink it.... if you can find a British pub (I know there are a few stateside) they maybe they'd be able to get the Marstons one in, they are a decent sized brewery - it's not the best oyster stout I've ever drunk but it'll give you the idea and it makes a change from Guiness!
