Cleveland have announced their new CG Black line-up specifically targeting "Seniors, Women & Slower Swing Speeds". Driver ,FW and irons all benefit from lower COG (further forward in Driver, more rearward in long irons).

The full line will be available 11/07/2014. Click here for full details on the 2015 Cleveland CG Black line-up.

CG Black is a full line release for 2015, but what I'm most interested in is their Fairway woods. The lofts available are extensive (3W, 4W, 5W, 7W & 9W) and are probably not unexpected given the target market for these, but this is a bonus for those of us who would prefer a high-lofted FW to a hybrid (myself included) - these are definitely worth a look.

Irons feature a large hollow chassis in the long irons, and look pretty slick (if a little on the obese side of things)

As with the 2012 line-up, adjustability doesn't feature in these for 2015.

Questions: If you are in the target market for this line-up (or heading that way...), what are your thoughts? Does this line-up interest you?

Point to Ponder: Is this all we will see from Cleveland for 2015? With Srixon's newfound appetite for the North American market will Cleveland focus solely on the wedge / CG Black target market?

The price point on these clubs gives me pause, but I will reserve final judgement until I get to see them up close and personal.. It is a shame, because I have grown up with the Cleveland brand in my bag. One of the very first OEM clubs that I purchased with my own cash was a Cleveland 588 53° Diadic wedge. Still have it.

I will certainly give them a look.  I tried the last CG Black driver and liked it a lot.  My local store had one and almost went for it, but then it was gone.  I have looked recently on ebay thinking I could pull a markb and get one cheap, but there aren't many and decent ones are expensive.  So they must be good, right?

I will only be trying them if our local store gets them, otherwise its a 4 hour trip to Seattle or Portland and I am not doing that in the winter; except maybe Christmas time.

The CG Black is excellent for the 45 years + golfer with a slow to medium fast golf swing. They're too expensive and look too "senior" to sell.

Putter, Black and wedge for Cleveland? Yes.

High lofted fw's are fun. More golfers should use them.

I thought they were just going to use the Cleveland name on their wedges and call everything else Srixon?

It looks like there is some definite differentiation between what Cleveland and Srixon will provide for the stable. It's definitely going to be interesting to see where this heads.

I do wonder though, if Cleveland focuses solely on the senior golfers and ladies, will this have an impact on the way their wedges are perceived as well? I hope not as I really like their wedge line-up.

You've got your finger in the pulse of things in Europe Furu, how strong of a push do you think Srixon will be doing into Europe and North America in 2015?

Their approach in Norway is to offer Srixon as custom fit only. Not sure how that will work out for them. Positive - their prices are very competitive. The new irons cost the same here (by just converting USD to NOK). That doesn't happen very often.

I can't see them using the same strategy in UK and the rest of Europe. The markets are so different. A strong push and spending a lot of money - I could be wrong but that doesn't look likely either. They'll launch their products and study the reaction in the markets. Most countries have extremely well established brands, it could be a good idea to start by tempting people rather than overwhelming them with campaigns and longer-than-everything else slogans.

North America? I have no idea. Wouldn't be surprised if they go for a careful start.

Some brands have to dare to be different. Someone has to accept that they're #3 or 4.
