Custom Boutique Putter Scene?

I know of a few people here that are into it and there reasons for it. But, are there any others and if so, is it the unique factor (possibly being a 1 of 1 or that it is a Handmade) the finish, stampings or being able to have it being able to be precisely dialed in for you that has got you hooked?

No right or wrong answers here, just curious.

For me, I've always had a hard time finding what I want in a putter. I'm a centershaft guy most of the time but I've always liked the Anser head shape and beefier varieties as well. No one makes it. So I went boutique to find the one. Now I'm looking at another for variety (longneck face balanced Anser type shape, ie a Byron DH89 with the Tai treatment and a long twisted neck).

In The Bag
Driver: TaylorMade M2 (2017) w/ Project X T1100 HZRDUS Handcrafted 65x
Strong 3 wood: Taylormade M1 15* w/ ProjectX T1100 HZRDUS handcrafted 75x
3 Hybrid: Adams PRO 18* w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4 Hybrid: Adams PRO 20* (bent to 21*) w/ KBS Tour Hybrid S flex tipped 1/2"
4-AW: TaylorMade P770 w/ Dynamic Gold Tour Issue Black Onyx S400

SW: 56* Scratch Tour Dept(CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
LW: 60* Scratch Tour Department (CC grooves) w/ Dynamic Gold Spinner
XW: 64* Cally XForged Vintage w/ DG X100 8 iron tiger stepped
Putter: Nike Method Prototype 006 at 34"

Have a ton of back-ups in all categories, but there are always 14 clubs in the bag that differ depending on the course and set-up. Bomb and gouge. Yes, I'm a club gigolo.

The putter is my favorite golf club and while I don't collect boutique putters, I really enjoy looking online and doing research on the different companies and what they offer. I have a small collection of putters but they are older models. There are some boutique putters that I wouldn't mind having in the collection, one of them being a Slighter Kent since my collection mainly consists of heel shafted blades.

I know some people that spend big money on a driver with an upgraded shaft and look at me like I'm crazy when I talk to them about these putters. Unless you are very good or just lucky; you will be using your putter 18 times while playing a round. The putter will give you better results I think for a better score.

whiskey golf, I'm with you about the 8802 putters. I just saw a Damascus in LH (going to see about it) and there might be some being made with a mokume gane insert in LH :) My putters are similar but varied if that makes any sense. Below is what I have..

whiskey golf, talking 8802 putters, my friend Tad Moore had a few with mokume gane inserts in RH. He might still have some as he made up a new batch.. If you'd like I can find out for you. Those are very nice and like I suggested above; I've asked about LH and there is a strong maybe :)

I appreciate you being able to find out for me but at the moment I'm trying to keep money from leaving the bank account, it's good to have backup money while in school. Thanks again.
