Tinkering
Kind of an old thread here, but I'll answer. I use it and think it's fantastic. Very accurate and easy to use. I have found people who complained about it were unable to make tagging part of their routine, they expected to hook it up to the computer and it do the rest, or simply expected way too much. For the price it's a great product that does what it said it would. I would be happy to write a full review on the product if anyone wants. Snakebit, I would be very interested in hearing your take on it. To me, it would be great to simply KNOW how you hit and with what. I get the concept. But is it worth the money? What do,YOU get from it other than having an accurate knowledge of you club lengths? I think it would be nice to know my GIR, FIR, etc.... But what would that bring to my game other than simply knowing? Thanks.... Tinkering
No problem. Here is my take. Being able to look back at a round of golf is what is big for me. Visually seeing my traced shots on Google maps provides with ways to better manage a course through club selection, angle of attack, etc. all while seeing how far I truly hit the ball on that hole given its layout. Knowing how far you hit a 5 iron is great, but knowing how far you hit it on hole number 4 that is always into the wind is invaluable. Seeing that when I miss the fairway left on 5 is ok, but right equals bogey really helps my strategy and understanding of my game and how a course plays. One of my favorite features is the ability to look at proximity to the hole from different yardages and what the typical miss is from a given distance. I quickly learned that my numbers inside 100 and 100-125 were acceptable. But from 150-175 really needs work. You can also look at the individual club. For example I noticed that I hit a lot of my drives into the right rough. And by adjusting my aim point, my fairways hit have gone up 20% in the last few rounds. Game golf is much more than tagging a club and saying "ok I hit a 7 iron ____" it is a great teaching tool for those people that wasn't to get better by just playing and practicing smarter. For me it has been with every penny...I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if anything happened to mine. But what would that bring to my game other than simply knowing? Thanks.... It does calculate FIR and GIR, but can make mistakes the closer you are to edges of fairways and greens. Probably the best feature is one that shows you where you miss greens from distances. At first I missed almost all greens short, now I've changed my dispersal pattern and given myself more chances at greens. It's a great visual feature and allows you to figure out where the holes in your game are. Driver: Epic Flash 12 Degree Wood: GBB 3 Wood Hybrid: Razr 4 hybriid stiff stock shaft.
