Succesful Season Redux

I couldn't remember where Bones posted his thread on Fowler's season and how succesful it might of been so I came here for this one.

 

Rory has said that winning the Master's is his goal for this upcoming season.  So does that mean that if he wins the US Open and PGA or the US Open and two World Golf events while retaining his World Number 1 that he has had an unsuccsful season?

 

Inquiring minds want to know what you might think.

It's tough to quantify success, but if that is his only goal for the season and he doesn't achieve it then I would have to say that by his standards he would not have achieved success if he doesn't win.

If his goal is to win the career grand slam, then yeah, I'd say he'd be disappointed.  Of course, winning the other 3 majors and a boatload of money will make that disappointment fairly easy to live with....

That's what he said his goal was although I agree, not a bad consolation prize.

I think he would consider it a successful but unfulfilled season. He seems to want the career grand slam and the other majors while important aren't his focus at the moment.

If he doesn't think about it all the time and just keeps doing what he's doing, he will have a better chance. The more you want it, the more difficult it is to win. Look at Phil and Snead at the US Open.
