First off I want to start off by saying hello to everyone. I have been an avid reader of this site for a few years now. I have read and visited some of the other forum sites and this is by far the most unbiased, and thus making it my favorite to read. I love reading all of the reviews and reports that on this site. 

 

About me, I am a young 30 year old business teacher and head golf coach from Iowa. I have a wife and a 1 year old son. He needs work on his take away. In our "neck of the woods" I would say I am the typical golfer. I didn't pick up the game until college and have been playing ever since. I have a 12ish handicap with the goal of getting it to single digits.

 

The reason why I came to this site is because I feel like I would fit it better with my point of views. After reading many of other sites and, getting frustrated with many of the members and their thoughts on the game, i thought I need to become more vocal and talk from the perceptive of the average, some what intelligent, municipal golfer point of view. My purpose is not to offend people but I want to/for speak for the little guys.

 

I have never been part of a private country club, but have been a member of four public courses in two states. I think that they have all been quite similar. The board is struggling to make enough money, the greens keeper is making too much money for the little that they actually do, the membership is not what it was back in the day, and the years biggest event is the club championship. 

 

Also, I'm gonna go ahead and say it, just so everyone knows and can judge me, and we can clear the air. I have and will continue to wear jeans, shorts, basketball jerseys, backwards hats, and, yes even, polos and khakis on the course. Yes this is perfectly accepted on our course. And yes, I listen to music on my golf cart, during appropriate times.

 

Now with that off my chest I am ready to talk to you all. I would truly like to get ideas to expand golf in our area, and grow membership in our club.

Welcome CommonHacker from another muni player! Nice to have you on board. We are all pretty common around here. Just a good bunch of people that love golf. Sounds like you will fit in just fine, and we love to hear opinions from everyone. So jump right in.

i have a Bluetooth speaker now. I like it a lot. The only issue is that my phone battery doesn't last as long as I wanna play. Might be because I am playing music, using The Grint, and 17 other apps at the same time. I had to rid up a 12v powercord to my battery to make it last.

Absolutely! I just moved here. I'm always looking to play a new track. I heard that the Grand Falls Casino course is going to be very nice!
