Favorite Irons of 2014?

Follow up to the "What Makes an Iron Good" thread...

What irons have you demo'd in 2014? What were your favorites? Why?  What did you pull the trigger on this year? (For this discussion, end of year releases count for 2015!)

For new irons my favorites were the Callaway Apex/Apex Pro (see 2014 Game Changers Blog), Tmag Tour Preferred CB's and, surprisingly, the Cleveland 588 CB's.  'Course, didn't actually buy any of them (came close with the Clevelands) - only purchase was a set of used Srixon Z-TX irons. Actually more like rented as they were sold on eBay recently.

Speedblades again here.  Just very forgiving and I hit them well.

I didn't demo a ton this year, but in the past year I've had AP2's, Scratch, CMB's and Amp Cell's.  The Speedblades are just the combination of easiest to hit while still looking good.

Favorite irons I tried were Mizuno MP-54, but don't have the cash or the game to put those in the bag. I picked up an open box set of TM Rocketbladez Tour 4-AW to replace my Callawya RAZR X set. Like them a lot.

I was hitting the speedblades a tonne at the demo day but never was able to afford them. As much as I hit them long and straight, was looking for something different at the time...

I am looking forward to trying the new Exotics E8 irons. I have read up on the irons seem to have some new technology in them that will give me an easier launch. I am also interested in trying the Tmade RSi irons why? Well because I simply am a Tmade junkie. lol

Tmag TP MCs made the bag for multiple reasons the biggest one being able to get a proper fit for them. I didn't want to spend my money and end up not getting the performance I wanted.

TMs TP series was excellent. It's a shame that the only one left is MB.

Othera worth mentioning - Nike Covert Forged, Callaway Apex and Wilson FG100.

Haven't hit the FG100 Furu -- haven't been able to see it anywhere. Did try to M3 irons - very nice.  I'd think with the right shaft they'd be something...

I liked the Cobra Bio Cell+ enough that I bought some last month. I also liked the Nike Covert Forged, but I had the previous VRS forged and they new ones weren't different enough.

I liked the Cobra Bio Cell irons.......especially since I reviewed them last year.  They are still in the bag.  I have not really looked at any others to demo, but my eye gets caught looking at Mizuno's a lot.

While the i25's and Wilson FG Tour M3's were both solid contenders, the best 2014 irons for me were still the Callaway RAZR X Tours... :(

Really wanted to play around with the APEX but didn't have the chance.

I still have my 2013 Speedblades in the bag.   I hit the TMag CB's and MC's, but didn't like the distance loss.   I hit the SLDR's and really like them as a compromise between looks, feel and distance re-gains.   I didn't buy them though.   I hit the Titleist AP1's and thought they were just superb.   I also hit the older gen Nike Coverts and found them extremely easy to hit, but not a beauty queen.   I tried some Wishon cavity backs and found them to be as good as anything out there.

Overall, I liked a ton of irons this year after not liking a ton in 2013.

MP 54's.  I love them.  No, really I do.  It's an upgrade from the old MP-52's I've been playing.  I love them.  Even the 4 iron.

Tried several sets early in 2014. I liked the Cleveland 588 MT the most. I just hit them better than the rest I tried. The 3 & 4 irons are like having hybrids that look like irons, very easy to hit. They will be in the bag in 2015 unless the new Cobra Fly-Z or TM RSi prove a whole lot better.

Didn't get a chance to try too much in 2014. Got my S-55's at the end of the '13 season and it was between those and my 'ol original AP2's. Hope to play more and try a few more things for 2015.

I did not hit or demo any irons this year. If I were to change, I would love the Mizuno MP15 or a complete set of MP H4 2-W. That is really just an upgrade of what I have now. If I were to go completely nuts I would try the TP MB/MC combo set or based on the SLDR Driver, I would try the irons.
