To tip, or not to tip... and if so how much?

I just picked up an uncut 46" Aldila Rogue Silver 110 msi 60 gram Stiff shaft and I want to make an informed decision about tipping this one.   Two weeks ago I got an uncut Rogue Black 95 msi 60 gram Stiff and I did not tip it.  I play my shafts generally a little long since I have short arms and the over all length of this one installed is 46.5" or .5 over standard for my driver.   I liked it, but thought it launched rather high and played to a softer flex than its stiff rating.  

 

Given that the Silver 110 is much lower spinning and lower launching than the black and I have a SS of around 105 to 108, what do you think about tipping the Silver?    Any and all opinions solicited.

We have not messed around with any of the Rogue shafts in raw lengths, so ant input I give would be a guess..

I always tip if it's someone that plays it over length, personally. Generally go 1/4" for every 3/4" over 45". So at 45.75" I tip a quarter inch.

 

Call Aldila and ask them their recommendation and explain your thoughts on the other shaft playing weak to flex. They'll tell you exactly how much to tip it

Very good advice as I do play overlength by 1/2".

 

One other factor that has concerned me is the fact that not all hosel adapters start at the same point.   For example, if I wanted to play a TMag head at the same overall length as this Callaway head, I'd have to make the TMag shaft 1/2" longer because the Callaway hosel and neck attachment point is so far up the shaft.  A shaft prepared for a Ping tip would have to be longer still becaise its tip is way down deep in the hosel.

The thing with adapter usage is that there's no consistent BBGM. The bottom of the bore is all over the place.
