Antigua is a brand that's stood the test of time in golf apparel as they get ready to celebrate 35 years in the apparel market.  Their business was established around the golf market and they have a portfolio of professionals on their staff.  Over the last ten years, I have had the opportunity to wear their apparel, season after season.  One thing that always stands out is the quality product they continue to produce.

Although rooted in the golf, Antigua built their brand around licenses with professional sports teams as well as corporate logos.  A lot of guys already have Antigua in their closet, but not because they were purchasing the brand first.  It was that jacket with their college team on it, or a polo with the corporate golf tournament they were in.  Your favorite logo'd shirt from your home golf club may very well be an Antigua product.

I have found it rare for a golfer to consider Antigua as a brand of golf apparel as a standalone entity.  Overtime I have noticed a constant attribute with respect to Antigua.  Their selections can compete with most of the performance apparel on the market today.  The quality construction and durability of the materials stand the test of time over multiple wash cycles.  Their colors and styling remain conservative, which means their shirts can serve a dual purpose.  They don't look like the trendy golf costumes.

Antigua recently released their 2015 selections, and will debut them in a couple weeks at the PGA Show.  I had the opportunity to have a look at two of the 2015 outwear pieces, which is a first for me.  Once again, like the golf shirts, I was taken aback at the quality product Antigua is offering.  If you haven't yet, give them a look when considering apparel options.  They've yet to disappoint me, and 2015 is no different.

From Antigua: 100% polyester irregular yarn jersey knit face and fleece back 1/4 zip long sleeve pullover with self fabric collar, solid color insets and contrast coverstitch detail. Open cuff. Antigua 3D logo at bottom front.

Basically, this is your standard issue warm weather pullover.  When worn, the Haze offers a fair amount of warmth with the fleece lining.  The polyester shell is constructed with “irregular yarn” jersey knit which gives it some texture rather than smooth, slippery feeling.  The warmth to weight ratio is perfect as the Haze does not have a bulky feeling to it, and is non-restrictive during the movement of the golf swing.  The 1/4 zip makes this a perfect cold weather layering piece.  The Haze has a tailored fit.  Although true to size, it will fit closer to the body, so go up one size if that's not your thing.

From Antigua: 3% polyester/7% spandex heavy interlock knit full zip jacket with cut and sew self-fabric hem. Contrast heather inset detail at shoulder forward, sleeve, collar binding, and inside neck. Antigua logo embossed at center back neck.

The first thing you'll notice about the Flight is the over all weight.  It's not a thick or bulky jacket by any means, but it's got a bit of heft to it.  A very nice overall piece of outwear that is perfect when the temperatures fluctuate.  The overall quality construction, fit an feel of this jacket is evident at first touch.  It's the type of jacket that I don't just want to wear to the golf course.  This would serve perfectly to both the office, or even the gym.  The fit of this jacket is true to size, order as you would with confidence.
