Got some hard news yesterday -- my man and new Forum member langesc88 blew out a disc over the weekend and will undergo fusion surgery this week.  He'll be on the shelf until early summer, most likely.  Even worse, the guy was soooooo looking forward to the PGA Show this week, but his surgeon has other ideas.

 

This is the second time he's ruptured the disc - and spent the weekend in serious pain.  Drop him a message if you can - tough break for a first class guy...

Sorry to hear about that.  My wife had L5-S1 fusion about 6 years ago in July.  No golf that year for her.

 

It's winter, so langesc88 will be ready to go when it warms up... June?  I am assuming that the MGS Minnesota Invitational is postposed until he is healthy again?

Thank you everyone! I am very disappointed that this happened but if anything at least it didn't happen while in Florida. Would appear that I will have lots of time in the near future to check out all the posts. I believe I will be on the chopping block late this week yet or Monday of next. Good luck to you, positive mental attitude and you'll be on the course soon enough - just don't rush it.

 

after my double discectomy I was chipping and putting after 2.5 months and swinging after 3.5 months. In the 6 years since it happened my hcp has dropped from 12 to 5, and I enjoy and value golf more than ever before.

OUCH!  Your spinal card looks pinched off that must have been really really painful.  My C6-C7 has only herniated 3mm and that looks way beyond that.  Prayers brutha and a speedy recovery.....

Thanks all for the well wishes and prayers. My man (the man upstairs) heard from all of you and made sure the doctor did what he knows best. My recovery will be tough but I believe I am going to take a realitivly aggressive approch with it. I plan to get a membership at Lifetime Fitness and work with a physical trainer. In addition one of the MSG members Dr. Kevin Unterreiner and I will meet often to develop a plan of action.
