A Program to Aid US Kids Golf - PLEASE READ!

PGA Teaching Pro, Author and FOB (Friend of Barbajo) Bryan Skavnak is trying to do something fairly difficult...

 

Bryan's a great teacher and an equally talented writer.  Last summer he self-published his second book, "Happy Golf Starts Here." It's 125 pages, with roughly 8 pages of golf instruction. The rest is a deeply personal story that can help anyone enjoy the game of golf and to understand why we're really out there hacking away.  It's a book that touched me on a very fundamental level and helped me have more fun last season than any golf year of my life.

 

Bryan's books was the #1 selling golf book on Amazon last summer, and it captured the attention of US Kids Golf, who would like to distribute thousands of copies to all of the participants and their families at all of their tournements this summer.

 

Bryan (who will be featured in our latest "5 Questions With..." later today) is launching a Kickstarter campaign today to help fund this initiative.  If you're so inclined, please take a look at the Kickstarter page and see what you think.  At the very least watch the video...

Got an e-mail from Bryan this morning - less than 5 days into the Kickstarter and he's already 30% towards his goal..which is to be able to get his "Happy Golf Starts Here" book into the hands of kids and families taking part in this summer's US Kids Golf events.  My guess is it's mainly aimed at the parents - to make sure they don't ruin it for the kids 

 

Anyway, here's the link for the KickStarter again -- check it out if for no other reason than to read Bryan's story.  He's a pretty unique guy and a darned good golf instructor!

Want to give this thread a bump - Bryan's KickStarter campaign ends this Friday and Bryan is getting closer to his goal of $22,000.  He's using the money to print 20,000 copies of his book, "Happy Golf Starts Here" to distribute to kids taking part in this year's US Kids Golf tournaments this summer.  It's a GREAT book with lots of important lessons for both kids and adults...
