Yeah, this is an old thread but it is cold and rainy so I am reading everything.
I voted for and play Pro V1 and Pro V1x. I like the older Pro V1x's better than the new. So I guess I am a recent convert to the Pro V1. The poll listed Nike One Platinums. That was my favorite ball but they quit making that years ago in favor of the Tour and now 20XI. I loved the Platinum because of the spin but if you can not control the spin the it was a horrible ball. I had friends try it and most loved it around the green, but it could be very short if you had too much spin with the driver and it never went straight. Always, fade or draw, but awesome if you controlled it. The newer Nikes are no different than most of the others.
When I did my ball fitting, I went out and played three complete rounds with each ball. All top teir balls and varied the order so that it was just not on a particular day I played them better. I had saved good balls that I found on the course and had to buy a sleeve or two. At the end of the three week period I compared the score cards. I found that some were definately longer than others but some scored better for me than others. The Platinums were the shortest but the best scoring ball. I was 2.2 stroke less with them then the average. The Pro V1x was the next, followed by the Pro V1s. The worst scoring were the Callaways but they were the longest.
Score is all that counts.
