I'm nominating the Kick X commercials. They make me laugh because of how ridiculous they are.

How about the Perfect club? Remember that one?

For "real" commercials I thought Srixon's schtick about not playing a tour ball because the curve too much to be a joke. You can't have it both ways. Those balls reduce spin off the driver, less spin, less curve. I could see touting better value on the midline ball, but the difference in spin off the driver is minimal if it exists at all.

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

The Hank Haney one about the "blueprinting your golf game" gets me when he says he can get you 70 more yards and shave 10 strokes off your game the first round. He has some old guy (and I can say this!) trying to hit the ball with absolutely no arm extension period. Which to be completely candid Haney gets on my nerves and is totally full of BS

The Medicus driver commercials are extremely annoying, almost as annoying as the actual Medicus driver itself, which I don't get at all. Single hinge/double hinge, that damn thing unhinges me after about two minutes and ends up back in the kid's bag.

The Travelers dog commercials are getting really old, that poor dog schlepting for that golfer guy hitting it all over place, my dog would never do that.

The OMEGA watch commerical with Rory hitting a drive and that lame "hall of fame" song, good god. "you can be the greatest, you can break rocks..."  was that written by a third-grader?  (I can hear my kid now, "Oh Dad, you don't know what good music is")

But the worst one is that commercial where the supposed golf pro hits a drive right next to a water hazard, then hits the next shot and gets his pants all muddy, but then he goes back in time and hits the tee shot in the same spot but this time there is an alligator there, and he tells the alligator to be quiet and hits his next shot, but he doesn't get his pants muddy this time, what is the point of that commercial, I don't even know what they are advertising, isn't that the point? What good is the commercial if all you can remember is the stupid skit and nothing about the product or service?

Ok, I'm done.

Respectfully,
DHUCK WHOOKER

I wouldn't nominate that one as being the worst. It's not good but it's not that bad.

I just love any of the ones where there are people standing in the line of fire on the range, and they take off running when the golfer hits it over their heads with the newfound distance to go measure how far it was. Of course, they're set up at the 150 marker....

As a slight aside: why does nearly every golf instructor on TV stand where a shank would end their life?

THAT bugs me!

  • 4 weeks later...

I just recently saw the new Michael Breed commercial that is similar to Hank Haney's Blueprint thing and it's the worst ever. As soon as I saw it I thought of this thread. Maybe it's just me, but I can't stand Michael Breed. I avoid the golf fix like the plague and now he's invading the rest of the golf channel.
