White shoes issues

So last year Adidas had a contest on their Facebook page to win a media kit with their new AdiCross gripmore golf shoes. To my surprise I was one of the winners. I was hoping for the grey color as I already own white puma cell fusions. Well, I got the white.

 

The shoes were comfortable right off the bat with no issues with blisters. As the season went on I noticed it was harder and harder to keep the white clean. Especially the toe and the sole (being white as well). I got a pair of Black Eccos that had a neon yellow sole but an off white sole with again is impossible to keep clean.

 

I have two questions for you MGS-ers.

 

The first being does this happen to anyone else?

 

What do you do to help combat this and keep them as white as possible?

Out of 15 or so pairs of golf shoes I have 2 pairs that are all white.  Scotchguard makes a great product for leather shoes, give it a shot...

Yes, people will argue it's too abrasive for shoes, but I've never had an issue. Works like magic.

I put two applications and do not notice any difference.  Just make sure the first application is 100 % dried first before you apply the second.....

For the leather I keep a package of baby wipes in my shoe bag and give my shoes a cleaning after every round. It doesn't take long and definitely keeps them looking clean.

I wash my shoes after use to get mud and grime off, then once dry I use Footjoy clear wax.

 

I've always rather liked polishing shoes - never feels like a chore to me.

Ditto on the Magic Eraser......it's great, especially for the Soles.  I do not use it on the leather.

+++ On the magic eraser. Soft Scrub with bleach, also works very well.

My golf shoes are DNA shoes.  They don't really stay white but I don't really try to clean them much.  I wear them for the comfort and the traction.

Whenever I get new white shoes I coat the hell out of them with the stuff you can buy at Footlocker or other shoes stores. I usually apply 3-4 coats which keeps the grass from staining them and keeps them white longer.

 

When they are dirty I use the magic eraser like stated above and I buy I white shoe polish also
