What's REALLY in your Golf Bag?!?!

Okay, so Mike Z was talking about Prep for Spring and mentioned the annual ritual of cleaning out the golf bag - every nook and cranny of it. Now for some of you this happens regularly enough that it may not be overly interesting to you ... for others, well, maybe put a glove on before you reach down deep in there

 

Here is your challenge, and a little motivation for those of us who need it. We want to see what's really in your bag! 

• clean everything out of your bag,
• clear away the hundreds of polo shirts your Mom/wife/girlfriend bought you from the basement (and remind them there's no such color as salmon while you're at it)
• lay all the contents down (don't throw anything away - this is us being real
• jump up on your old green lazyboy (if you have the balance) - alternatively use a stable chair or 'selfie stick'... if you know what that is...
• take a photo (in focus and in landscape orientation)
• post it here

 

that's an example - that's not my bag baby! I'll post mine tonight.

 

We may require some voting on this as well... feel free to suggest categories.

A few pencils with erasers.... because............

 

Reading glasses.

 

Extra cleats for my shoes.

 

Probably $5 in change because I just throw it in there...lol.

 

5 divot tools.... even though I rarely need them.

 

Enough tees to last 4 seasons...lol.

 

A bottle opener for "good" beer.

 

A flask.

 

A bag of plastic shot glasses, because, you know.............

 

A brush for cleaning the dirt out of grooves.

 

A knife.......... I really don't know why...lol.

 

A few towels. 

 

A sweat shirt.

 

A ball cap.

 

Sun screen that is at least 3 years old.

 

A bottle of Aspirin.

 

Band aids.

 

Chap stick.

 

An extremely cheap rain suit.

 

Damn.... that is a lot of s**t! No wonder the bag is so heavy!...lol.

All of the above, a range finder, a cigar cutter, 3 lighters, rain gloves, a wind breaker and a stocking hat UConn Husky logo. I take a pull cart when I walk.

What a great idea. And I clean my bag at the same time while drinking a Pedernales Classic Hefe-Wizen. Yes... that's a ball-retriever I carry for my friends.

Yeah... I guess that's what you call it. Mine is a Champ brand. Push a button and it flips open like a switchblade. Been using them for years. This particular one is plastic and light weight. You've probably seen others that are nice too. Heavier and made of all metal. I like the lighter ones.

Alright MBP that's too damn neatly arranged. LOL So far there are only three photos and two of them include a grip. WTF?! I'm assuming that's a spare. I don't think I've ever had a need to re-grip a club.. say on the 14th tee box. And how would you do that? Wedge it between a fork in a tree limb or something. Too funny.

I do like the two bags I've seen so far. Nice.

I had meetings last night so couldn't photograph my bag - I considered doing it before I left this morning, but it was still dark and I couldn't see clearly let alone take a clear photo.

Okay team, here's mine:

 

I usually use two different gloves during a round, but not sure that I really need 5 in the bag... 

 

The random 'found' balls are emptied out of the bag before each round as well - no way I'm lugging them around on my back.

clubs and two alignment sticks.

Not too bad. I will accumulate a lot more random stuff as the season gets underway. During the season we should also do a what's in your trunk. Mine gets pretty interesting.

It'd probably take me an hour and a half to get everything out of it to photograph.  There's literally a TON of stuff in my bag. We play year round and honestly, I poke stuff in it and forget to take it out.  I've got stuff for all seasons in there.

Seeing everyones bag and then mine doesnt make me feel as bad as I originally did.

Nothing really outstanding or horrid. I am particularly proud of my hodge podge of ball markers that have ended up in my bag. Other than that, just a normal hacker's bag I guess.
