Jmikecpa
I have been given a tour of the course and it is spectacular. I have the chance to play his courses in West Chester, Bedminster and Philly several times a year and really like all three of them. Trump West Chester is a beast from the tips and yet playable from the member's tees which is a nice feature of the design. I find it amazing that his idea is to buy existing courses and then to a redesign. Can't wait to play the Blue Monster at Doral in April. Jmikecpa
I am not far at all from Bethpage and the rates really are not that bad for out of state considering the course you get to play. The Black is about $130 during the week and maybe $145 on the weekends which is not a weekly thing, but still not that bad for a bucket list course. I played early in spring (two days before the Black opened for the year) and they were saying 225 all day every day. If it was only 130 I'd have no problem going out there for a round a year just to experience it. It's not too often you can play a recent US Open golf course and walk on. L.I. Rich
I played Ferry Point the first week it opened, and it is a terrific course. As you can likely ascertain, I'm not a city resident, so it is a steep fee, but the practice facilities and layout are terrific. The greens were in fantastic condition considering the winter we had. I've heard, though I've not witnessed, that the Black has on the order of seven temporary greens, and the Red something like four. L.I. Rich
I should amend my statement - the greens were in great shape, period. Jmikecpa
Played Trump yesterday and it is a really nice track. Some quirky holes and tough lines off the tee but overall fairly challenging. The greens were a bit in the firm side which is generally the case with any newer course and will settle in over time. Views of the Manhattan sky line were incredible and the fact that Trump carried his private club experience to a public track is really special. Fees are steep but for a once a year treat I think it is well worth the money. fixyurdivot 1 Quote WITB 2024 Driver: Qi10 LS 9* HZRDUS RDX Smoke Blue 60 6.5 Fairway: M5 15* Evenflow Black 75g 6.5 Fairway: Sim 19* HZRDUS Red 75g 6.5 Hybrid: 0317x 22* KBS Proto 95x Irons: X Forged CB 5 - PW MMT 105 TX Wedges: Jaws Raw 50*, 54* & 58* TTDG "OG" Spinner Putter: Toulon Madison BGT Fire 34.75" Ball: Z Star Diamond
Tom54
I've heard that in addition to the green fees at TFP, you aren't allowed to take a push cart or rent one because the Donald doesn't like how they look. So you either have to lug your sticks or take a caddie. Dunno. I got to play Bethpage Black when I was in NY and it was lower green fees. And I did take a caddie. LICC
I love Ferry Point. It's a great course, better than any public course in the New York/New Jersey area other than Bethpage.
