Not really a surprise that he switched back for the masters but I was kinda hoping he'd stick with the conventional putter for the whole season.

It's really disappointing. I think he would've been better off in terms of reputation if he just waited to make the switch until after the Masters.

My guess is that if he wins at the masters or any other major this year people will assume the putter is a crutch and he will struggle very badly next year when forced to use the standard putter.

So Adam is Bailing on his flatstick and going back to the Broomstick.......This may be okay for the Masters but he needs to get control of the shorter version.

its a tough call for him, the greens at Augusta are probably as difficult and fast as he faces all year and it's the place an errant short stick would get found out.

 

Would any of us do differently? If it gives him 1 percent more chance of winning then what do we expect him to do? By next year he'll have played the short stick a lot more and he won't have the option.

So... now the comments will start again about the anchored putter being an advantage.  

 

He has had quite a bit of time to work on the short putter and has played in several tournaments; putted OK and not OK.  But if he is going back to the broomstick, it must seem for him that the anchored stroke takes enough fast twitch muscles out of play that it increases his confidence.
