Masters Odds - Who would you put $200 on?

Okay, well it feels like we've been talking/hearing about Masters week since Christmas - but, much like Christmas, it has finally arrived and excitement is in the air. There are a bunch of players like Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Jimmy Walker and Henrik Stenson who have had really solid starts to the season, and a slew of others who could win on their day.

The question then, is who would you put your money on if you had $200 to bet? (split the bet if you want, put it all on one player, whatever you want). Can you see one player who is a good bet at this stage (either on form and/or on the betting odds)

In all seriousness I think this could possibly be a very exciting Masters' (more so than usual).

 

Lots of guys playing well and there almost seems to be a little shift in momentum to some new names and I hope to see some of them towards the top and in contention.

 

If I'm putting $200 down I'd have to split it 4 ways.

 

Bubba

Jimmy Walker

Jordan Spieth

Jason Day

$20 on JB Holmes. $30 on D.J. $75 on Rory and $75 on Bubba. I like Speith and Walker but neither are as long as the rest of these guys. Although Walker is pretty long.

Its far from the most important thing but how did that work out for him down the stretch against Bubba? Augusta isn't a short hitters course. Length is a premium there. Otherwise I give Speith as much shot as anyone to win. As my fantasy teams shows haha

Length is a premium on almost every course they play on tour and somehow Spieth is one of the most consistent players on tour. Down the stretch it didn't work out for him but I don't think it was Bubba's length that gave him the advantage. I think it was his experience and confidence. If I had $200 to blow on one player I would put it all on Spieth without a doubt.

Length is a premium on almost every course they play on tour and somehow Spieth is one of the most consistent players on tour. Down the stretch it didn't work out for him but I don't think it was Bubba's length that gave him the advantage. I think it was his experience and confidence. My choices were made as a gambler trying to optimize chances at winning money not putting my eggs in one basket btw.

I'm not betting wins except for an early early couple of bets I made a while back with longer odds. Instead, I'm betting on top 5's and top 10's. Payouts aren't as high but you've got a better shot at getting cash back. Tiger and Rickie top 5ing is at 66/1 currently

But I'm still going with guys that have the short game sharp right now more than bombers. Bubba is due to be outside the top 50. DJ isn't all there still. Sleeper guy that's a bomber? Woodland.

DJfits the course profile. Bomber that hits it high. But his putter comes and goes and it's not going right now.

 

JB Holmes got hot a week too early IMO. I never really like guys in the masters that play at a tournament the week before. Those greens are different than anything they really face on tour. Just don't like that for my picks.

He won last week but it wasn't because of his driver. JB has played well all year. That's why I like him and DJ as dark horses. Bubba is built for Augusta and Rory is the best in the world right now so I'm not too worried about my choices. The only other players I considered were Stenson and possibly Speith but things aren't going to be easy for him this week with the course softening up. We all know Rory likes a soft course though.

Well Undershooter30, this is one of those times in life where you get the opportunity to take a fun loving jab at someone. I know it's early, but I have to get it in now just in case he falls apart. Should I start gambling? We'll have to wait until Sunday to see.

How have first round and 54 hole leaders faired so far this year? I'm feeling good about my pics 3/4 in top 19 so not too worried. Also wouldn't be the first time I've been wrong.... Or has it?

Btw Rory lead by 4 after 18 holes when he was 21. It didn't work out well for him. I will say Speith is more mature than Rory was then but the comparison is there.

She is in very good control of his game, it's going to be very difficult for someone to catch him. It is only Friday, but he is and has been playing well for a while now.
