Snell golf Get Sum ball

I'm not going to write a big review on these because I've found that Tour type balls suit my game better. I do know that there are any number of guys here who use mid level balls though and so I thought that I would mentioned that I ordered a sampler pack from Snell golf a few weeks ago.

There's already a review of the My Tour Ball and they received a great write up on the blog. My experience with that ball concurs with what has already been written, good distance, great greenside spin, just what you'd expect from a tour level ball at a reduced price point.

On to the Get Sum. I bought the sampler pack so that I could give a sleeve to two of my good friends who typically don't use tour type balls. They were impressed by the gift.

Friend one, Dennis, is a high launch, high spin player. He a 23 because he's exceedingly inconsistent but he hit three drives yesterday that were knocked out of the park, easily the longest drives I've ever seen him hit.

After the second one blew by my drive, seemingly on the way up, I said, let me hit one of those. Great sound, firm feel, nice ball flight, the same distance as my other drive (nuts). BTW I parred the whole and He made double, at our level consistency and control trump distance every time.

He had no issues holding the greens and our greens are firm, they hold well struck shots and reject anything else like they know what deserves a good result and what doesn't.

I dropped one at 156, up hill with a cross wind and had no trouble holding the green with a 6 iron. I'm high launch, medium spin, I hit my ball, a Brdigestone B330 RX and the Get Sum and both landed around the same spot, the GetSum rolled out a bit more.

Off the putter the ball feels fine but of course does not spin as much on chips or pitches around the green.

Player 2, Craig, is a low launch, low spin guy. He's a better player than Dennis, 17, because he's more consistent. He really needs to improve his consistency around the green. He got killed by our greens on the front because he could not hold them even with well struck shots. I gave him a MY Tour ball and things improved tremendously. He's frugal but he has a consistent enough game that he would not be throwing money away playing a tour ball. I think he would shave off any number of strokes by using that ball type.

Overall I would highly recommend the Get Sum ball for the player who doesn't want to be in a tour ball. It's very straight, holds the green fine on longer shots and has a nice feel around the green. It's a good value at $20.99.

I might get a dozen when I order another dozen My Tour Ball. I played them on my last trip and liked them quite a bit. When I get back home, I need to do a better comparison with the MG Tour C4.
