Phil at The Open - Buying or Selling?

So this is the one Phil wants so badly he can taste it.  What do you guys think - are you "buying" or "selling" on Phil winning this year's Open?

 

Got him on my Fantasy Team, so I'm buying.  With fairways this wide open, it might be his last/best chance...

I'm buying for two reasons. He's a lefty and he's Phil Mickelson.

I'm not saying he will win it but he will play well. Picking a winner is a crapshoot unless it's Tiger in the early 2000s.

 

To take this from another thread.. Phil generally plays well when others are bitching about the course. He goes on about his business. I like ole lefty this week. Plus doesn't he usually do ok in US opens?

The creativity needed to play well on this type of golf course just screams Phil Mickelson, doesn't it? However if there is wind or rain, it could be anybody. I'm thinking it will be similar to an Oosthuizen at The Open like victory where nobody knows who the winner is and he just crushes the field.

He will likely play well, but this course will favor the straight hitter, so Jordan, JR, Jimmy, those are the guys I would look for to win. That being said I will always root for Phil, every tournament every year.

Totally selling.  Phil is done.  I will enjoy watching him try and go down in flames though.  Phil is always spectacular, be it in victory or defeat.

No real weather in the forecast for this weekend... It really could play well for him with no rain or massive winds blowing that high ball flight every which way.

They say this course favors a good imagination. Not sure, but I think that "imagination" is Phil's middle name

I say Phil and Monty battle it out until #18, then victory is snatched by a first-timer.  Maybe Sergio?

I am buying. At least in his interview he sounded great. He has not made this out to be his last chance and he does not act like this is the end of the world if he doesn't win. But I actually think he will win.

I'm buying - anyone is a long shot to win but I can see a top 10 for Phil.
