Sluggo42
10-1/2 weeks is a long time! Had a few range trips last week just to see if anything hurt, all went ok, so yesterday morning off I went. Shot a 78, BUT, I admit I shot from the whites. I was amazed at how well the arm worked actually. I was shorter on my drives overall, but that's ok on whites. Rarely had anything bigger than a 7 coming in. Iron play was amazingly crisp. Fixed greens all day! Putting was solid, but not spectacular. It was strange playing pain free. I was so used to pain I guess I altered my shot to get away from it, and then visualized how I wanted to swing when I returned. So I did, and it didn't hurt! It's a little sore today, so I'll give it a week to recover again. Final analysis? I'm glad I finally got it fixed, and wish I had done it sooner TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes

Kenny B
Great news! I said the same thing about my knee replacement. Should have done it sooner. I guess I just wanted them to practice a little longer on other people! Sluggo42
That's great to hear! 78 after a layoff and surgery, not too shabby. Remember, it's from the whites. And swinging easy put everything in the middle. What was odd tho, was that my irons were so true. I don't know that I missed anything from 150 in. It was a bit odd. I think it's from watching a lesson on the golf channel, from one of the old women pros, right before their tourney. She said to put the ball basically in the middle of your stance, and to bring it from inside a bit more... Imagine reeds swing. Shorter backswing too. Us fat guys do that. I visualized that swing for about 8 weeks, and let me tell you, (for me), it was money. Ball strikes were consistently on the sweetspot of the club. Accuracy was really good, but my distances were a bit scattered, as those absolutely pure shots were going further! I almost think some time off would be a helpful hint for some people., although swinging pain free might have been a factor too... But regardless, it felt soooooo good to get back on the grass... Kenny B
Shhh! Positive thoughts only. If you keep thinking about the good shots and how they felt, you will more likely repeat them. However, if you remember the bad habits and think that they always come back, then you will certainty see bad results. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Tap-That-In
Congrats man. What surgery did you have? I have been battling tendinitis in my left elbow for 2 years now. I have had 3 cortisone shots that have helped for a few months but it keeps coming back. I think the next step for me is surgery. How long was the rehab ? mizuno_lover
It seems to be one of those crazy things that when you start back playing after a lay off for whatever reason your game is either in fantastic shape or the opposite. It's obviously more refreshing when you just take up where you left off and shoot some great scores. Don't care if it was off the whites Sluggo you still have to hit good shots, well done and welcome back My Bag Driver: G25 Stiff shaft3 Wood: JPX 850 16 degree. Sluggo42
Congrats man. What surgery did you have? I have been battling tendinitis in my left elbow for 2 years now. I have had 3 cortisone shots that have helped for a few months but it keeps coming back. I think the next step for me is surgery. How long was the rehab ? Uh oh tap, that's exactly how mine went. The surgery was to take the tendon off the bone, trim away all the loose stuff, scarf up the bone and drill a few "U" shaped holes in it. Lay the tendon back down onto the bone and sew it back to the bone with some really strong thread. Big cast for a week, then wait ten weeks, all the while working on rehab/flexibility/range of motion etc. It's still not "right" yet, but I'm only 11 weeks in now. Judging from previous shoulder surgeries, it really takes about 6 months to a year, before it's semi forgotten. The main thing for me is that it no longer aches 24/7 It still hurts now and then, but that's scar tissue forming and stretching into place. I'm hoping the doc glued it all together in a way that forces only a good proper swing path haha TSr2 on tensi blue stiff Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S Epic Max 5 and 7 woods on HZRDUS Reg flex Paradym 9 wood on HZRDUS reg flex P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 6-AW T22 Denim Copper 54°, 58° on Kinetic X Trajectory ER3 or, E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x, or, Maxfli Tour X .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 , or Sketcher shoes
Sluggo42
Second round didn't score as well, but I returned to the blues. Game gets harder when you're throwing mid irons instead of short irons. Score went up to 85, but oddly, I felt like I hit the ball better. A few doubles and didn't get any putts to fall in the hole. But, everything was close. Best thing is arm is getting stronger, and there is no pain. Would you sacrifice three months from golf to become pain free? Yes. I wish I had done it sooner. Might look into getting some scar tissue mobilization techniques. Help it lay down in a more uniform manner some healthy tissue and less of a connective web.
