Ok I've done some stuff before but nothing like this, first of all has anyone ever done this or know how it works? These custom... Markings? Are done by Anthony Taranto, a club maker for Callaway but they only do this for they're tour staff and I have an old wedge I wanna try this on but I don't got a clue how. If anyone can enlighten me I'd much appreciate it, thanks! P.S- look at @anthony.taranto on Instagram for some more of these neat custom jobs.

Driver: Nike Vapor Flex with Mitsubishi Rayon Fubuki ZT60x5ct S-flex shaft and stock grip.

3-Metal: Nike VRS 15 degree with Mitsubishi Rayon tour issue Diamana S73x5ct X-flex shaft and GolfPride MCC midsize Black/White grip.

Irons: Ben Hogan PTx 22, 26, 30, 34, 38, 42, 46 degrees standard length and lie with KBS Tour-V stiff shafts and GolfPride MCC midsize Black/White grips.

Wedges: Ben Hogan TK15 54, 58 degrees with KBS Tour-V X-flex shafts and GolfPride MCC midsize Black/White grips.

Putter: Nike Method Converge B1|01 with Superstroke Flatso 2.0 grip.

Yea that could be too.

 

The only way I can think to do something similar in the garage is with a template and acid etch. The template decal would have to be on clean and tight so nothing would bleed under it.

Some are laser etched, but some are blasted on there.  That particular one is beadblasted.

Interesting, unfortunately (depending on who you ask) I probably can't get hold of a laser but is there any YouTube stuff about that or the bead blasting that anyone knows of? It'd be neat to learn about.

Beadblasting is pretty straight forward.  There is a cabinet that has a window that helps recycle the beads where you can watch what's going on.  There is a gun with a nozzle and a pick-up tube (that picks up the beads) that is hooked up to an air supply.  The nozzle mixes the beads and air at a pressure predetermined (mine is set to 80 psi with glass beads).

so do you tape it off with anything special or just a bunch of duck tape?
