Bones and Barbajos Product Spotlight - Hydraulic Shaft Extractor

Recommended Posts

Finally, I have had a chance to get this going.  This is the first of hopefully many to come.  Without further ado.........

NOTE:  In the video I gave the wrong price, it is $99.....still a great deal.

Pros:

Easy setup

Easy use

Can travel

Good price

Homemade by a golf lover

Cons:

There could be a mounted "wheel" for different shaft sizes that you just rotate for the correct size, instead of the piece that just sits on top.

Since that piece is loose, it is easy to lose, so it could come with and additional one.

Where to find:

Hope you enjoy this feature and yes, I'm a goober.

Awesome! Great use of the glove haha!

Boy that sure is cheap!

Could you also mount that horizontally on a bench? Seems as though with a vertical mount such as that, you'd need a tall work bench for it to be mounted on, no?

You could.  It can be dismantled, so you could take the mounting bracket off and modify it to fit your set up pretty easily.

Bones, drill a hole in the hosel fitment piece so you can attach it to the main piece when it's not being used (then you won't lose it).

Nice work though - you're a natural in front of the camera ;)

I usually put it in the piece that holds the shaft in place, then tighten it down.  I thought about drilling a small hole through it and using wire to attach it to unit.

In the video you already removed the ferrule, why is there a ferrule in the posted pics?  It gives the impression that it works with the ferrule on.

Great job!  Seems like it would be well worth it for someone looking for a shaft extractor.

Different shaft I assume. There are his irons so I'm guessing he did 7 or 8

I was putting a head on, so it was the new ferrule.

I was going to say- that was the least amount of heat needed I have ever seen in my life!!!

The video was an actual pull, the head was already a tad loose, as the epoxy I used on the original build was a little out of date.  The new ferrule was put on, when I took the pictures.

I bought a Roberts myself and no tools are needed.  One thing I will mention is that on graphite it's much safer to use a heat gun, especially for a novice using a shaft puller, as using a torch you can and will trash graphite pretty quickly.
