mizuno_lover
My club Pro was waxing lyrical about the new GMax irons and the buzz is that they are 10 metres or 12 yards longer per club than anything that Ping has done thus far. I know the lofts have been jiggered but 12 yards is a big claim Guess we'll see when they're released. My Bag Driver: G25 Stiff shaft3 Wood: JPX 850 16 degree. jbil8802
I need 12 yards less dispersion rather than 12 yards more length. mizuno_lover
I hear ya Jbil I feel the same way. Actually I just wish the shot I picture in my head would be the shot that comes off ie the towering fade that starts 10 yards left of the flag and fades perfectly landing like a butterfly with sore feet 2ft from the pin instead of the low scunted hack that lands in front of the green and runs over it into the back bunker. Which Ifail to get up and down and walk off with a double. Talk about things that make you go Hmmmmmnnn My Bag Driver: G25 Stiff shaft3 Wood: JPX 850 16 degree. westy
Thing is Pings are usually good at dispersion, imagine if these bad boys are long and straight? I've found the G30 4 and 5 iron to be no less straight than my I20's..... MmmmmmBuddy
We have a demo set of the GMax irons at the shop. Very easy to hit. Long and straight. not the easiest on the ears or eyes, but work as advertised... mizuno_lover
I'm really looking forward to taking the demo set at my club out for a hit. I can't see myself buying or gaming them because of the offset factor and the general overall ugly look of them (ok ok I'm a club snob) be who couldn't use 12 extra yards in your irons.
