Maverickping
I was lucky enough to be able to try them when they first came out as Jay offered one as a tryout. My putter a Mills Softail Sapphire proto looks brand new thanks to this product and quite frankly I do not recall how long ago this was. One of the best things you could do for your putter, never had to worry about weather, or anything else with this product. Best money you will ever spend on your putter. From my friend Jay Green: Several years ago I had an idea that a protective film on the bottom of a putter would be a great idea. So, I went and found a 2mm 3M film that is used in NASCAR and had the soles of some putters mapped with a laser and then had the film cut to fit those soles. The result is PutterTape. I had a site for it for a while and am now reworking the site, but wanted to re-introduce it here and gauge interest. PutterTape comes two laser cut pieces to a "card". Each card is $10 shipped. Feel free to email me directly, it is very easy to install and will save the sole of your putter!! email = [email protected]
McaseyM
Looks interesting! What type of finish/gloss is on the tape? also, what about putters with interchangeable weights? Maverickping
Sorry no idea on the weights, I don't own any putters that use them. But, I would imagine it would not be a big deal as you can take it off and put it back on and even if someone messed it up, $10.00 is not a lot of money and you get enough for two putters. Cheaper than a refinish option. I would say clear on the tape, Jay is going to be posting some pictures later today so I'll post them here. fozcycle
Why do you need to put a film on the bottom of your putter? I wipe my putter off after each hole. There is no residue of chemicals from the greens to eat away anything. Kenny B
Looks like what came on the bottom of the Nike Method Converge putter that I tested recently. It covered the weights but on that putter the weights are supposed to be changed. I am thinking that after awhile it will need to be removed because it will start looking crappy. The Nike already has tiny bubbles under the film. Personally, I don't see a need for it. If the finish on the bottom of a putter can't take the "wear and tear" of putting and wiping with a towel, then that's a putter I don't want to use. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Maverickping
Here is a picture of what it looks like. For those that do not know, Jay was the distributor and tour rep for Mills for many years so it is a quality product.
Maverickping
There has been an incredible market for this product over the years and those that own high end putters that have tricky finishes. for those that do not have these putters it might not be for you. There are a "few" people around here that know this product.

PlaidJacket
I'll most likely buy an expensive custom fit putter in December. I can assure you I won't be putting Putter Tape or any other tape on the sole of it. But if anyone would like to buy a roll of clear scotch tape I'll sell you some. LOL My Sun Mountain bag currently includes: 771CSI 5i - PW and PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges EXS 10.5*, 929-HS FW4 16.5* Willimette w/GolfPride Contour
Maverickping
If you think clear tape and Putter tape is the same you only confirm what I already thought... about you; there is a forum of people (in the boutique putter scene) who actually understand and actually know about Putter tape and are happy it is back. To each their own.
