Need a Game

I will be going on a golf vacation with 3 friends at the start of April and I have been tasked with finding games we can play and bet on.  All of us are different levels (16hdc, 14hdc, 13hdc & +2hdc).  We will also be playing different tees due to age or skill.  Any good games we can play and bet on?

Those are some ideas to get you started.

The game our foursome always plays is Scotch.  Two man teams (high/low cap vs two mid caps).  The low cap goes to zero and then everyone gets their strokes based off that index.

1 point for closest to pin in regulation, 1 point for low individual score, 1 point for low team score, 1 point for birdie, get all 4 and you get a bonus point.  So 5 points possible each hole.  The team behind in points can press at the start of any hole and the points go up one level.  We start the game at level 3 (each hole worth 15 pts) just so the first few holes still count for something.  The level resets at the turn.  We play 50 cents a point, but you can set the amount to whatever you would like.  If you win more than $10 per person you are required to buy the other team a beverage after the round.

Most golf betting games I find too complicated and distracting from playing. Long ago, I found out about this game which is simple, and a great equalizer between handicaps of large variety. Bingo, Bango, Bongo. Three possible points per hole:

1. First on the green, regardless of # strokes.

2. Closest to the pin once on the green, regardless # strokes.

3. Longest putt made. (This might end up being 6 inches.)

It's a great way for even a lousy player to have fun, and every hole is a new chance to score possible 3 points.

Allow the three mid-cappers to play a scramble against the plus guy and give them the ability to call back 2 shots a side.  That would be a blast!

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

"When we got incredibly bored, we played Reversals, in which your worthy opponent could tee up your ball, turn around on the tee and hit it in the opposite direction as far as he could, as long as the ball was inbounds. You have not lived until you've played a 674-yard par 4 from the edge of some lake, lying two."
