The New Guys Bag

Recommended Posts

I finally got some good pictures of my bag all cleaned up. One thing I pride myself on is getting good deals on golf clubs. Ill put the prices I paid next to them as well.

Driver: Adams Fast 12 LS 9.5* Fubuki S Flex

The driver is the longest lasting club in the bag. I cut it down to 45 in. the Fubuki feels nice and sturdy. It has a Lamkin UTX in solid Red on it. I hit it about 260-275. I try other drivers and at most they beat it by 2-3 yards ($45)

3 Wood: Adams Speedline LS 15* (Set -1) 6Q3 Red Tie S Flex

I bought this club mainly for the shaft. It was a Not For Resale shaft. It caught my attention. I was originally going to put it in my r580xd but I took it out and fell in love with the club. I also have a Red UTX on this. This one goes about 230-250 ($50)

3 Hybrid: Adams Pro Black 20* NV Voodoo S Flex

I literally found this club in a Goodwill used club bin. I saw it for a dollar and took it for that. it fit my gaps perfectly and so it stays. It has a Red UTX just like all the other woods. ($1)

4-PW: Cleveland 588 CB Dynamic Gold s300

I just recently acquired these. I really like the way they feel when struck well. I'm not sure if the s300's will stay but so far so good. Blue/Black Multi-Compound. I really dont like them and will probably take them off. I want to figure out the shafts first. I base my yardages off a 150 yrd 8 iron. ($125)

 20160118_211602.jpg20160118_211708.jpg20160118_211630.jpg

50* Gap: Big Bertha 2004 Edition Uniflex

This came from my Father in Law's old set. I have the full set but I cant hit them. They go too high and spin too much. Nevertheless this thing is point and shoot. It has a Red Pure Pro. It goes anywhere from 65-120 yrds ($0)

20160118_211745.jpg20160118_211759.jpg20160118_211813.jpg

54* and 58*: Cleveland 588 Tour Concept Wedge Flex

I found these at a used club shop. They felt great so I bought them. Nothing spectacular about them. They help me get up and down. Plain and Simple. They have the Red Pure Pro ($30 each)

20160118_211902.jpg20160118_211933.jpg

Putter: Odyssey Versa #7 34 in

I have always liked the #7 head shape. I try to go SBST. This really helps. I have also figured out recently that if a putter has a round back I dont aim it well. Dont ask I cant explain. Its got a Jumbo Lamkin grip. ($45)

Golf Ball: Bridgestone RX-B330 (Fill in all 0 with red sharpie

Tee: Martini Tee (Red)

Sunscreen

Different Poker Chips

Divot Tool from Sterling Country Club

Red Sharpie

Bushnell Rangefinder

Nice looking stuff. Maybe I need to make you my personal shopper. Ha. I also like the photo of your bag contents. I don't recall seeing rubber bands in a bag before. Maybe I'll toss a few in my bag for good measure. And some duct tape. And a coat hanger.

My Sun Mountain bag currently includes:   TWGTLogo2.png.06c802075f4d211691d88895b3f34b75.png 771CSI 5i - PW and TWGTLogo2.png.06c802075f4d211691d88895b3f34b75.png PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges

Can do. Today I hope that I can get over to the PGA SS. They got an Adams LSP Hybrid with a prototype matrix shaft for 35 bucks. When I say prototype shaft it literally has the Matrix logo and says protottype. No weight no flex or anything. Im hoping I can get it down to 25.

I have the rubber bands so I can do a cheap phone mount to record my swing. I grab a broken shaft stick it in the ground and rubber band my cell phone to it. its not pretty but it gets the job done

I like you already--- Redneck Engineering at it's finest! You also tend to have my shopping habits. I also work for a metal recycling company and you would not believe what comes in there. I scarfed up two Scotty putters in the last couple of weeks along with a Titleist 905 driver.

Nice player's bag, coog.

I love the look of those Cleveland irons without tacky graphics.

Very nice pictures, too. I wish that I knew how to do that.

I can't imagine how many posts I've made about gear over the past few months--I just love the subject and have quite a collection--but I'm completely technophobic and don't know how to post my own pictures.   Instead, I spend all kinds of time--I mean a lot-- looking for on line photos of identical clubs. Many of them are very hard to find because I play a lot of vintage gear in my rotation.

When I finally find them, I put together an illustration of my set on a Microsoft Excel spread sheet.  Often, I can only find pictures of my models with steel sgafts on them, so I always try to crop the pictures so that the shafts don't show.   Sometimes, I can only find the right club in the wrong loft and have to blur the loft stamping.  Eventually, after all that bother,  I get a dead accurate portrayal of my equipment and post it.  But it would be a hell of a lot easier  if I could just photograph the actual clubs that I've got in the first place.

I guess when you're an old, retired guy, you find time to do stuff that busier people can't be bothered to do.

Anyway, what kind of a "Coog" are you?   Houston?  BYU?  Washington State?
