For those of us old enough to remember when this was the Bob Hope Desert Classic...and the site of Arnie's last Tour win in 1973....

I heard that last year they only used one course but this year they are using three courses....so the format from 2015 won't be a reliable guide to this year's winner.

Actually, the "format" is the same. This tournament is always played on 3 different courses. Just that in the recent past they played The Palmer Private Course and Nicklaus Private Course at PGA West and La Quinta Country Club. This year they play La Quinta Country Club, the Nicklaus Tournament Course, and TPC Stadium Course. So two of the three are different courses.

 

It is one of the hardest courses to pick because the first three days they play different courses. The cut is not until Saturday Night.
