Saturday Sudden Death

Recommended Posts

Last night and this morning while watching the GC I recall some discussion about Fowler shooting +8 yesterday and whether he could recover or was the tournament basically over for him. Sure, he can recover. It's possible. Will he? Place your bets. Now, this leads me to us amateurs and our weekend rounds. Forget the pros. This is where the action is.

I'd imagine that most of us have a wager or two on the line each time we play. I know I do. Usually several. But here's what makes us amateurs so great. Every Saturday for example we play a "sudden death" match. There is no next round where we can recover. It's over. So we have a bad hole or two along the way. The best we can hope for is that it doesn't happen again or that one of our buddies tanks even worse. Of course there's one word than can sometimes bail you out..... Press!

Have a great weekend.

That's my brother in laws favorite word!  If he's down he just presses every hole, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

This weekend is a two day points tourney.....our semi-annual event, so there are not many side bets this weekend....at stake is first place 9about $450)...or last place with about $50.  That's right!  Even the person that comes in last place for two days gets a small portion. Each player pays $4/week when he plays that goes toward his "Buy-In" for the tournament.  For every week that he does not play, he must anny up $4...so the total cost is about $100 per person.  We also have a420 for each Closest to the Pin and a daily $240 Skin pool. In all, the two day event is a lot of fun and everyone enjoys it. I strss out because I am running it. My goal is to finish in the top 5 or 6, hoping to still have some fun....Let's Go Play!
