01 Civic EX (one I dumped the most money in. Body kit, slammed on air ride, 1 off Jesse James wheels, leather, sound quality system with 2 sets of Focal Utopias, etc, etc, etc)

05 Ranger slammed on Cobra rims

98 Tahoe

06 Scion Xb

Lol... That's it. I've bought the wifey a few choice rides though. Newest is the 13' Terrain she's driving now.

Only new car I ever bought was the 01 civic. The Xb is my commuter now. Utilitarian at best

Thanks to your suggestion going to look at the new Vette today. The Z06 is a bit over budget but the budget is flexible

I know and it is the only Chevy I would ever consider buying. I am not a big fan of the Viper and never really have been. To me they can never get the V10 to sound quite right.

They are flat out mean with 600+ hp from the factory. I looked at a 2012 Shelby and loved the car, just was not willing to pay their bottom line on it. I have been trying to find a 2016 to test drive and have not located one within 100 miles of me yet.

 

I liked the Vette a lot but still trailing the Hellcat Charger by a long shot. Something about a 700hp sedan that has me hooked.

I saw one when I was a kid at a museum in PA.  Not sure if they still have it in their collection or not, but it is a special piece of history.  Also a great movie as well.

This is my baby now. 2012 Hyundai Veloster. It's a fun little car to get around in for a poor college student. My only regret is that I didn't go with the Turbo version, but on the bright side this gets substantially better MPG.

So this is random but in my neighborhood most of us are college students, but there are a group of kids who live behind me who apparently have more money then they know what to do with, one of the guys just this week brought home a brand new '16 Z06. This car is SICK! IMO any budget that is flexible should probably have room for this car. I don't think you'll be disappointed at all. My father in-law has the 2015 Vette and the new models are by far the best Corvette they've made. They dropped the race car idea and just made a badass luxury sports car; smooth and quiet ride with all the bells and whistles inside.

I liked the Z06 and the normal Vette a lot, just stuck on a 700hp+ sedan. I am a fan of the ultimate sleeper and the Hellcat fits that bill. Any car that will carry four adults and four sets of clubs that runs 11s from the factory on street tires is the ultimate for me. My wife told me I can get a Vette to keep it company in a few years when I hit my midlife crisis stage.

 

Car shopping in earnest begins in a few weeks when I get back from vacation in the Dominican Republic.

After many test drives and many months of looking I am down to two choices.

 

1. 2016 Charger Hellcat

2. 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 convertible.

 

Going on Saturday to drive both again and make a decision. Smart money is on the Hellcat.

So, my 2007 Dodge Nitro R/T now has 115k miles on it and i needed new tires.......The Rays hit a homerun Monday night in the 4th inning, so Kaufman Tire(local company) gives you a $144 off a set of four.  So I called, placed the order and will get the new tires tonighht after work.  I am putting Pirelli Scorpions on again.  The first set of Scorpions asted a good 50k miles(original was Wrangler with 65k on them, but ride was rough). 

 

Anybody else on their 3rd set of tires?

So I took my wife to look at both cars yesterday and we came up with option #3.  The big reason for the change was that we decided to keep my RT AWD Charger for the winter car rather than roll the dice on a used car.  Somehow safer to drive the slow 500hp Charger in inclement weather......reason #1 to not disclose life insurance policy amounts with SWMBO.

 

I went with a 2016 Challenger Hellcat in Ivory White, black stripes, black and tan interior, moon roof and got the automatic (I know, blasphemy but my wife cannot drive a stick nor willing to learn).  Deal is cut and just need to go in tomorrow and sign some paperwork and drive her off the lot.
