I had a congegant die today. This woman was very well known and well loved. Her family has scheduled the.emorial service but it's too late for the Sunday bulletin. They've specifically asked that I not tell anyone about it until after Sunday. Of course everyone is going to be asking how she is on Sunday. I wish that I could call in sick. I guess I will just have to say that the family had requested that I not discuss her condition with anyone.

My condolences and prayers to you and her family.  I think you've got it right.  They might get a few calls to check, but if everyone knew then they would be getting lots of calls.  Best to wait until the service is announced.
