Hopkins getting into fairway woods

I agree with Stu the wedges are hard as rocks, but the 60* that I have actually performs fairly well (much better than my old TM Tour Preferred - felt soft - performed like sh*t)

I actually like hard wedges that is why I play older Cleveland ones and older Wilson and Macgregor. I am a big Miura and Mizuno fan but do not like their wedges too soft. I think my problem with the Hopkins was that they were stock and had KBS wedge shafts in them and I am not a fan of those stiff tipped shafts. I had traded for them any how and ended up pulling and selling the shafts and grips. I may throw some soft tipped DGs in them and try them again because I still have the heads. Wedges the trick is getting the correct shaft and weight placement to fit your action through the ball especially in a trap. Bounce is also another can of worms. I am a wedge Ho and have over 100 in various ages and brands bounces etc. I do a lot of wedge experiments with shafts grinds and weighting. But when the money is on the line my old 588s are in the bag. I love them so much I buy every 588 I see especially in the thrift stores and yard sales. I think I have enough 588 heads that if I am blessed to be alive and playing at 90 I have enough to see me through. I do not care about the conforming part either because I have retired from comp except a few "outlaw" events and playing for fun or small matches where no one gives two hoots if a club is conforming or not to USGA standards
