Well, last weekend was very mixed emotions for me, it was Club Chanpionship weekend, Sunday was also my 45th birthday. It should have been a nice weekend of golf and birthday fun, we had plans to go to Hibachi for dinner Saturday, and have family time Sunday afternoon, that is until I broke out with Shingles on my face on Saturday morning, I did golf both days, but I had no idea the trauma that awaited me come Sunday night, and then the pain that I would be in throughout the week, here it is Friday night, and the most I have done this go to Mcdonalds for lunch today and that just about did me in for the night, I missed a full week of work, and am in no shape to even attempt golfing this weekend, besides the pain, they make you feel extremely tired, I have slept more this week than I have the entire month of August combined, I am finally starting to feel better, but apparently it will take some time to fully recover from them. If you know someone who has shingles or hear of someone having shingles, keep them in your thoughts and prayers, the pain that you go through is intense and doesn't stop.

Sorry to hear this. A few relatives have had them. If you're feeling better after a week, you're doing well. They were down for almost three to four weeks.

Hope you continue to feel better.

Wow that is a rough stretch. I had a friend who is 30 who had shingles in the thigh/ groin area, the nerve pain is the worst.

Hope you have a quick recovery and are on the mend!

Wow that stinks!  Shingles really stinks.  You are in my prayers as well.  That's incredibly painful and it's unusual for someone so young to be afflicted with it.  I hope and pray that it's not in your eyes.

I've had the week off sick too, but I would much prefer my cold to your shingles. At least my issue will clear up quickly, shingles are nasty, and can hang around for a while. Hopefully you age will help you get over it quicker than most, it can really knock the elderly about badly. Best wishes and get well soon, but make sure you give yourself a proper chance to get better and don't go too hard too early.

I think the wounds and some minor pain is going to hang around for a little bit, I feel about 80% but when you are down to feeling about 10% you take 80%, it's difficult not to just jump right back into things, but he body gives signs of overdoing it, we just have to listen. Thanks for the kind words, hopefully I'll be back on the links this week sometime.

Hope you are feeling better.  I had shingles on my back, my senior year of H.S. on New Years's Day! Difficult to even watch Bowl Games!!

Looks like you were pretty wet back there, so hopefully not much golfing weather anyway.

Today was the best golf day of the year weather wise anyway, but I needed the time off.

You managed to dodge Hermine?

It actually gave us one last blast this morning.  The flipping thing is 1/4 a continent away from us and was still dragging moisture through the Gulf.  We had a downpour that caused the parking lot at our resort to flood over.

It's beautiful now and is supposed to be back to "normal" tomorrow and Monday.  There will be no courses open tomorrow because of all the rain but there is a chance of golf on Monday.

Take care of yourself and don't rush it.

Sorry to hear of your pain.....I pray you will recover speedily. I was fortunate to get the shingles vaccine a couple years ago.
