And I'd think a sign that the sale is very, very near. They wouldn't be doing this without new ownership's approval. Wouldn't be surprised to see an announcement in the next week or so... oaks
This is great news for TM in keeping the pair of them locked up. My only hope is that they wait until after the Ryder Cup to announce the sales of the company - we don't need any distractions in Hazeltine... Orange Hog
Good get by TM and I think it's clear the brand isn't going anywhere at least in the short term. Will be interesting to see how the strategy shifts with new ownership, whenever that happens.
Golfspy_CG2
Good news. And the fact that TMAG singed Jason to a long term deal, after he signed with Nike for apparel probably means nothing. But it does lead me to speculate if Nike or former Nike personnel will be involved in the purchase of TMAG. GolfSpy Barbajo
Or at least the valuation. I'm guessing those contracts could be considered valuable assets...depending on the dollars. oaks
Rory to Srixon - maybe? Global Player - Global Brand... I am just speculating that I think for Rory - the ball may be the most important piece of the equation. G-Mac is in the stable already (yes his game is on hard times) but i wouldn't be surprised if Rory ends up with a company where the Ball is the most important part of the equation to him, whether that is Bridgestone, Srixon, Titleist, etic... Severtheties
I agree. I think he doesn't make a move until the offseason. In terms of guesses, I'd have to say that it might somewhat depend on what is ACTUALLY happened with TMAG. If he was smart, money wise, he'd wait for that to fall and see if there is an offer there. PGX intrigues me. I'm assuming, to some degree, Parsons is the one bank rolling some of the tour players, especially if they landed a really big name like this? Granted, they've been able to break the mold and see huge increase in profits already but is it enough to justify large sponsorship contracts yet.
