808nation
Imagine if we could play golf from sunrise to after sunset. What are your thoughts about having maybe a 9 hole course with night lights. I read about a course in San Diego (Mission Bay), but would you like to have courses near you to golf at night? PlaidJacket
Maybe. At first glance I thought you were talking about "night golf". The goofy kind with the lighted balls. Hate that. If I had an opportunity to play a fully lit course I'd have to a least try it once I suppose. Peterpc2828
There is a lit up par 3 course in Las Vegas called the Taylor made Experience, I've played it at night and a ton of fun, worth it to check out if your ever in Vegas. MmmmmmBuddy
I played at The Lights at Indio this Spring. Fun time, and I got to witness the largest single group on one hole that I have ever seen.. 9 carts and 22 players on one green. hckymeyer
I would absolutely play under the lights. We have a glow ball 9 hole event every year at our course. Just played it last Friday, it's the one round a year my wife plays. It's the light up balls and they put glow sticks on the pins and glow lights around all the greens. We have a blast every year. The light up balls suck, but it's still extra golf at night. You have to take an extra club for the crappy ball and an extra club for the cold (40-50 degrees at night here) but everyone is just having fun. Side note... On my buddy's cart he has one of those super bright high intensity light bars on top. If you park it behind the tee box you can see 1/2 to 3/4 of the ball flight from a driver so we've played a few holes at night and had no issue figuring out where the ball ends up. It's a blast but we've never made it more than a couple holes due to not being sober Driver: SLDR w/ Fujikura Ventus Black 3w: '16 M2 hl w/ Diamana D+ 82 5w: Launcher HB w/ HZRDUS Yellow Hybrid: 22 deg. IcemanYVR
I've played under the lights in Korea. They have a few night courses. Lit up like a football stadium. Harsh shadows can make it hard to track your ball and oddly enough the lighting affects your putting. Still fun and much better than using a "glo" ball. 913 D2 9.5° Diamana BlueBoard S+ 62g Diablo Octane Tour 15° Fujikura Motore F3 S-60 Big Bertha Hawk Eye VFT 5W Callaway RCH-96 MP-22 HMB 19° N.S. Golfspy_CG2
A couple courses all be it both Par 3's that I've played under the lghts. One was in Carson, CA many many years ago, and the other is just south of Raleigh on the way to Pinehurst, we used to play it on the day we drive into Pinehurst as it was usually dark by the time we got there. Both were fun times. Severtheties
I remember when they tried this on the PGA Tour. Although, now that I think about it, I think it was technically just an exhibition and not a sanctioned event. Either way I think it would be awesome to have a completely lit course for some night golf! EthanSterlingPrice
My first time doing glow golf. I know you can't see anything but neither could we. The yardages were altered so each hole was a par 3 and glow sticks were lined down the center of the fairway and around the greens, other then that all you could do was hit the glowing ball and hope it stuck. Sure was a fun switch from the norm though! Orange Hog
The range where I used to practice when I lived in MN was lit and open until around 10 pm every night. Even had a short pitch/putt 9 hole course. It was awesome and was always busy after sunset. Really wish they'd build more facilities like this.
