Not sure who else has played this course, but I had the opportunity to get out there this weekend. Typically, late October isn't ideal golf weather in Colorado, but we lucked out. High of 81 yesterday and mid 70s today. Wind was 15 MPH at times today, but dead still yesterday.

Quick version - This is an inland links sytle Doak design, built into the sandhills of eastern Colorado. The entire place is totally unassuming from the wooden entrance sign to the relaxed dress code - It's impossible to even tell there's a golf course until your right on top of it...and even then you don't really have any idea this is one of the top 100 courses in the world.

There are no prescribed tee boxes and because of that, there is no official course rating. Not every hole is better from further back either and some (#6) are downright nasty if you're playing it into the wind. You get the distinct feeling this is how golf is supposed to be played. Not that there aren't hundreds of amazing courses, but there's something very authentic about this one.

Pics to follow.
