MDGolfHacker
"The PGA Tour is bringing a team event back to the official schedule next year for the first time since 1981 at Disney. The policy board has approved making the Zurich Classic a two-man team competition starting next year, according to two officials...Still to be determined is how to assign world ranking points in a team competition, and how to dole out FedEx Cup points. The prize money is likely to be shared. The last official team event was won by Vance Heafner and Mike Holland in the Walt Disney World National Team Championship. Other team events include the World Cup and Franklin Templeton Shootout, though they are not official PGA Tour tournaments." What's everyone's thoughts on this ? I actually like adding this format to the schedule. Adds a bit of variety to the week in and week out stroke play and gives the qualifying PGA players a chance to play the two man format under competitive conditions other than the ryder or president's cup. Golfspy_CG2
I'm for it. I mean almost 40 weeks of the same stroke play format for the most part is enough, I give them credit for trying something new. if it fails, they can always go back next year. interested to see how the teams are formed though. Is it just grab your own partner and sign up? Should be interesting to follow. Kenny B
Grab your partner, dosey doe! Better ball all four days? Maybe alternate shot? I don't see a scramble format in this one. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
Rtracymog
I would love to see a round of bestball, a round of alternate shot, a round of scramble and then a round of bestball to finish it out! MDGolfHacker
I think everyone so far agrees that this is a great addition that adds some variety to the standard stroke play. Hopefully a few more events follows suit! Hopefully they don't take it too far and start installing clowns and windmills in the fairways...ha ha ha... TSssWhat's In This Lefty's Bag? Kenny B
The Champions Tour already has a team event; the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf in April. Probably something similar. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

MDGolfHacker
I know a few of the other tours have implemented the two man format. It's just good to see it on the PGA tour as an official event. MDGolfHacker TSssWhat's In This Lefty's Bag?
